Greetings,

I was in the Ford app to look at the maintenance schedule for our new Mach-E (2025 Premium EAWD, 8500 km on the odometer), and saw the above 2 active recalls. The 1st scheduled maintenance is not until 16000 km (we're currently at 8500 km), so i'm wondering if we should bring it in to have the recalls dealt with now, or can we wait until the 16k service is due.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Andy

They involve safety issues. You should have the recalls done sooner rather than later.

An edit— all safety recalls involve safety by definition. Some, however, may be more manageable if a person is aware of them. These two, personally, I wouldn’t delay having them done. Neither in my opinion are easily or conveniently managed around prior to the recalls being performed.

Up to you. Both recalls are software only, and both will be OTA updates eventually. 25C69 cannot be done at the dealership yet though. Simply set your parking brake when you drive and it's fine.

25C69 purportedly will be a software update. Which is currently not available.

Interestingly my owners dashboard and the Ford App both claim I have no active recalls. However the NHTSA website says 25C69 is yet to be performed on my car. I checked the car this morning and the last update done was for 25S65.

So maybe the Ford website is hosed this morning, or ?

Thanks, folks. it will probably be around mid-summer by the time we hit the 16k km mark, so it sounds like I get this done now rather than waiting all that time. The dealer we bought it from is ~1 hour away, so I was looking for an excuse to keep the trips to there to a minimum :)

There is no official time limit on recalls if that’s what you mean. You can wait until your next service if you’re not particularly concerned about the issues the recalls fix.

But since they are going to be available OTA your car might update before then anyways.

Both recalls showed up in the FordPass app for me. Ford’s mobile tech service came out and applied the 25C71, and he confirmed in the FDRS console that C69 was not yet available. Now the app no longer shows that C69 is required, although I’m sure it is. Given that these recalls are software updates, albeit not user applied OTA, I wonder why Ford can’t show that this update (or any recall really) was applied in the software update panel along with the user applied updates? That just makes too much sense I guess.

Thanks. There's no mobile service around here that I'm aware of, but there is a closer Ford dealer than the one we bought from that now has EV-certified service people. The dealer we bought it from is one of the highest-volume Mach-E dealers in Ontario, which is why we went there; at the time, the closer dealers considered EVs very much an afterthought.

Yesterday, Dealer sent a tech to my home for the 1st software update. It took @ 15 minute. Hopefully, the 2nd update will be as easy.

Better yet, set your parking brake when you stop.

(Sorry, I couldn’t resist😬)

Ironically I got my Compliance Recall Notice in the mail today for 25C69 "Park Pawl". Just checked the Ford App again, no open recalls.

Yeah, I’m not sure my dealer really likes being an EV certified dealer, but they do an ok job. They sell a ton of Mach-E’s though. I was surprised and delighted to learn they had mobile service since I’ve been using them on Mach-e’s for about 5 years now. They also do mobile updates on ICE vehicles too. Interestingly they had to connect up the Mach-E 12v with jumpers to their ICE vehicle at normal idle to make sure that the 12v had enough juice to complete the update, especially in these freezing sub-zero ambient temps. So, I learned from a tech how to remove the plastic covers to access the battery without breaking it or the tabs! Also learned that you need to remove a bracket that keeps the battery in place on the mounting pad in order to access the positive terminal. And, the tech had no idea (until I showed him) about the leads in the access port in the front bumper to power the vehicle to access the frunk in case of no power. I also learned that this is where the tow hook (found in the rear compartment) screws into the frame. Learn something new every day!

FYI: we just left the dealer, and both of these recalls were applied. The park one was just made available to the dealers, I guess
