Seems like there are plastic inserts in regular GT wheels, can it be removed and how much effort?
And what would be the hit on the range?

Yes they can be removed. They're held on almost entirely by the lug nuts.

Someone did this last year on the Forum. IMO they look better "stock". But it was minimal change and most likely not worth the hit on the range.

Man my super rusty rotors would ruin that pic! (It rained here finally) I think I'd be happy with those wheels. I liked my 19's for 10 min, then realized they're the exact same wheel everyone else has a copy of lol.

Worth it and no significant impact on the range

In my taste it looks much better than with inserts. Too much flat surface looks really weird, as if you driving a toy car :)

how do you remove the plastic?
Loosen lug nuts. Jack car up. Support car on stands. Remove lug nuts. Remove wheels. Remove aero covers. Reinstall wheels. Install lug nuts finger-tight. Lower car. Tighten lug nuts. Torque lug nuts in star sequence to 150 lbs/ft. Re-torque after a week. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿฉ
