I’m having the same issue for two nights now, charges for an hour then faults. Re-plug and it starts going again. Anyone with a resolution yet?
I’ve been charging at home since 11/1 with no issues prior to last couple days. Ford Mobile Charger on 14-50.

Hi there! Can you send us a PM with your VIN and Ford dealership information? I’d be happy to look into this on my end.

Hi there! Can you send us a private message with more information? I’ll see how I can assist on my end. Thanks!
We’re have similar issue after taking MME to shop for Power Train error and OTA Power Up Update car does NOT charge during scheduled times. I have to push the unlock charger button for it to recognize it’s within charging window. We never had this issue until visit to dealer. This is CRAZY!!! How can I charge when energy is the cheapest??????
We have a Sept ‘21 production Premium AWD.

That's very similar to me. Ford Mobile on a 14-50. Used to be fine. 2 weeks ago started throwing the fault if I charge for over an hour.

(I know I already posted that. But I have seen the official Ford account reply to some people saying they were having a problem. So I am basically reposting my issue hoping that they offer to help me too.)

Check the car's charge settings, not Ford Pass. And make sure the schedule matches. I would clear the schedule from the car and make sure it cleared from Ford Pass to. Then re-set it up.

Still had issue after clearing schedule from car, then re-syncing schedules with app. I charged off-schedule with no faults. Makes me wonder if it’s not an issue with programming somewhere.
Then I got COVID and haven’t driven so can’t do any more experimenting since car sitting at 90% charge already

Problem resolved. Went to closest dealership and was taken care of super quickly. Thanks @Ford Motor Company for being so prompt in knowing the problem and giving answers.

Can sleep tight now… Range increased from 180 to 245 in winters.

You are confident it is resolved. How many times have you tested it? I hope this was the fix. Thanks for posting.

I was having this issue for a bit in January, and again for a continuous week ending about 10 days ago.

I'm a little frustrated at the dealership by my work. I made an appointment to come in and have them look at the charger and hopefully order a replacement via warranty. A Ford rep said they would be able to do that if it was faulty. I come in, and the service people seem to have no idea about my appointment, so I proceed to charge my car outside on their own charger, just to rule out my car for myself, if nothing else. It succeeds.

They then say that it's likely my house's electrical that's the issue, but to book an appointment to bring my car in and have it and the charger tested. Mind you, that's the entire reason I was there in the first place. Best I can tell, ordering a replacement under warranty costs the dealership nothing, so I dont understand their hesitation.

Of course, that night my charger worked and has worked since. But i now have zero confidence in this thing working overnight when I need it to, and seeing other posts talking about 3-month-plus lead times on replacements makes me lean towards at least getting a cheap one in the meantime. Next time it acts up, Im taking my charger to the dealership by my house, and hoping for better luck.

Still no joy on our end. We are on our 2nd charger now and will see how that goes, but don’t think it will work considering the car is not taking power after a few minutes/amps even though the chargers are doing fine.

The last 3 times it charged for only a few minutes and then disconnected. Each time I go outside the charge lights are off and when I pull the plug I the lights flash red and then I get an error in the Ford app when I unplug.

trying the ford charger now. We have a 40amp charger with 50 foot cord that we have to use to reach the car. I just switched the chargers out and shuffled cars so the Ford charger will reach. Will update in the morning with my findings.

Switched over to the Ford Travel Charger (FTC) and haven't seen the failure since. We haven't done a long charging sessions with the FTC since we were around 67% when we switched to the FTC and only charged to 80%. We're waiting to get down below 30% SOC and then testing with the FTC to see if we can duplicate the error. Will update as soon as I've got more data to share.

In the meantime, Ford Motor Company contacted me through DM here and informed me that I have an outstanding TSB for 21P22 which should be applied to the vehicle. Also appears that we have one of the cars that won't install 1.7.1 OTA and have an appointment next week to get those things installed. Will also post back if either update fixes the issue with our other charger.

I had this problem and it is now solved. When we got the car we bought a super long corded charger on Amazon and that worked great until the update. After that it wouldn't work. But the car would charge fine with the Ford charger. Turns out the system update increased the amps that the car with accept to make it charge faster-- and that would trigger our charger to turn off. So either get a new charger or use the Ford charger. You just have a charger that has been rendered obsolete even though it was fine and isn't damaged.

Took car to the dealership and had them look for fault codes. The faults were related to high heat on one of the PINs from our after-market charger. The after market charger is by PrimeCom and PrimeCom tech support said that this was caused by OTA from Ford which increases the current draw from the car. This isn't possible since my car has never received an OTA and is one of the cars that can't install 1.7.1.

Spoke with PrimeCom support again and turns out that this issue may have also been caused by water getting into the charging port and increasing resistance on the pin which in turn causes more heat. Considering we live in Washington and have had a very wet past few months.

Sending it into PrimeCom to have them investigate.

Ford charger has been working fine for past few weeks.

What charger do you have PrimeCom?
