I thought that at first, seeing some of the other posts, but inspected the charging plugs and they looked fine. Also had an electrician out to review the wiring, and he said nothing looked off to me (the wiring and plug were put in last year).

In the spirit of "have you tried turning it off and on again," I unplugged the Ford charger from the wall for a minute and plugged it back in, and was able to get a full charge last night without interruption.

Update for me. Took a few weeks, but got into the dealer. Explained the problem, showed him the charge faults on the app. He took pics from his phone. Told him the tech on phone said I had 4 updates. Appointment was at 10 yesterday, called at 445 to say it was done. Said all updates were completed. App doesn't show any notifications that it has been done yet.

Picked it up today, they were very short staffed. Didn't have the receipt to show work done, guy who took it was off and office locked. But it has been on charger at home for far longer than it has been in 2 months. It typically charge faults anywhere between 10 minutes to 30 minutes.

HUGE difference from a year ago with my First Edition, where they literally told me they had no clue what ti do and have not been trained on it. Bought my FE last February, PaaK never worked, they could not fix it.

So it appears the updates have worked. Not sure what the other updates were, might go back to see what they were. Bought this GT September 6th last year. I absolutely love it, hopefully the issue is fixed. It appears it is.

Hi! Is your car still charging no problem? We’re having the same issue, charge faults constantly and it’s super frustrating. We’ve already brought the car in twice, and it seems to help for a little bit, but as of the last week, the problem is back and worse than it’s ever been
No problems now. Had some minor issues for other things but all got rectified by service guys. I would suggest everyone and anyone to get their cars serviced and clearly mention the issue to ford service guys. Mine were patient enough to listen.

What did the service people do? Can you share a redacted receipt showing what was done?

Great news! My issue appears to have been resolved after over 2 months of troubleshooting.

After taking the vehicle in again the techs performed random tests and saw some past "overheating errors" with the charge port. After the techs reached out to Ford engineering they elected to replace my charge port. Once replaced the issue has been resolved.

I noticed that the charge port is not nearly as hot now as it was previously when charging.

Hope this helps others in similar circumstances.

I had this problem and it is now solved. When we got the car we bought a super long corded charger on Amazon and that worked great until the update. After that it wouldn't work. But the car would charge fine with the Ford charger. Turns out the system update increased the amps that the car with accept to make it charge faster-- and that would trigger our charger to turn off. So either get a new charger or use the Ford charger. You just have a charger that has been rendered obsolete even though it was fine and isn't damaged.
Would you mind telling us
- which system update?
- what brand and model of charger was rendered obsolete?

After applying TSB 22-2150 and the Blue Cruise update at the dealership, my First Edition is now refusing to charge (repeated "charge station fault") on a JuiceBox Pro40 which it had no problems charging with before the updates, and continues to charge a Chevy Bolt.

Thanks!

I've had all the charging updates applied to my car and use a JuiceBox 40 with no issues charging. You may also want to contact Enel X to discuss the problem. There may be an update that can be applied depending on how old your JuiceBox is.

Did the techs connect the car to a charger they had at the dealership? I brought them my travel chord but they don’t have a 240v plug so they plugged it to a 110v for an hour and couldn’t reproduce the error (not a surprise). The dealership says they really don’t have any experience with the EV cars so I’m trying to help them troubleshoot. Any insight into what tests they did would be helpful. Thank you!

I am experiencing charge faults everyday, which is obviously frustrating and inconvenient. See attached.

Are you using the Ford travel charger? If so, try unplugging it from the wall then replugging it. That got my error rate down a lot.

What a nightmare! Either I’m getting a charge fault or reduced charging with amber light on the ford Mobil charger. Ive been to the Dealer 3 times . When they plugged it into their connected charger at the shop they said it’s fine but according to my logs it only charged at 15 miles per hour verses the 28 mikes per hour it’s supposed to. I then brought them my Mobil charger and it faulted on them at the shop. They decided it’s the Mobil charger and ordered a new one. I’m being told that the Ford Mobil charger is VIN specific otherwise they give me one they had there. How is it VIN specific when theres not even any individual identification codes on the charger? What the dealer is telling me is inconsistent with what my charge logs say. Anybody solve this issue yet?

It’s not VIN specific. They need to order a new charger for you from the parts department. The part number is LJ9Z-10C830-J

my faults happen more often now after couple of days no issue charging > 2 hours. now it faults out around 30 minutes more or less...

ordered a Tesla Wall charger, should have it installed this weekend, I'll see whether the car still faults out on it, then know it's the car or charger.

at the dealership the car would charge fine and there was no error on their level 2 charger. they were however able to look back in the logs of the car and see an overheating error having occurred on other level 2 chargers.

its been two weeks with the new charge port installed and there have been no further issues to report.

for anyone that has this occur I would recommend touching the charge port on the car as soon as it stops charging. if it feels hot, it could be a repeat of this this issue.

good luck to anyone that has it and hope this helps.
