Restoring Carpet Loft

Anyone know a good way to get rid of this flat spot in the carpet? I removed that unsightly seatbelt sticker from the back of the back seat and it left this indentation.

Better question how could you possible know how to operate a seatbelt without the sticker? The government or Ford corporate lawyers seem to think you can't, hence the sticker. LOL ?

I agree that a handheld clothes steamer and maybe a stiff bristle hair brush like this may do the trick?

My wife is a Captain for a major US International airline. You would probably be shocked at the number of times people actually have zero clue as to how to use a seatbelt. Those PA's? Yeah, they're there for those folks (who aren't listening either).

Moderately stiff brush, light steam.

I looked MD law up, sorry, you now must surrender your MME. I would try steam first, good luck.

Yeah removing that sticker is a felony. It’s there to protect the vision impaired. It takes a village, people.

Yeah, perhaps a very light touch to raise the nap, no forceful brushing.

there was a stand-up comic about 20 years ago who was like, "then they tell you how to use the seat belt, in case you haven't been in a car since like 1942" - and I thought, "well, genius, I've literally never been in a car where the seat belts didn't have a push button (not a lift handle)". so yeah.

well there is that too. I tend to forget that not everyone has been flying airplanes for 50 years. That’s not how the pilots seat belts work though.

@ChasingCoral, did you get the nap raised on that yet? Enquiring minds would like to know.

1. I had not even noticed that sticker until now. It is there.
2. I have no idea what the bottom row is instructing.
3. I was able to intuitively work the seatbelts without the hieroglyphics that I can’t read.
4. Agree with handheld steamer to melt the residual glue and light brushing to pick it up. I will probably take mine off now, just for the challenge. I feel like a stain-removing pro with having to clean those marks on my seats. Hmm, I might try the steamer on what’s left of those too.

the bottom pair of pictures is indicating that the release button shouldn't be pressed in if you're in the seat - it should be popped up, indicating the back is "clicked" in place.

Well, I would say that approximately 20 years ago I had recently upgraded a car from having a lift-handle belt to a camlock belt...

Next year the sticker will be longer so they can fit the hieroglyphics on it in 29 languages.

But fear not.... Ford has just patented a 24 foot long fan-fold sticker so only the first 11 feet ruins any surface it touches.
