Very informative! Maybe it’s just me, but the car feels smooth. I’ve driven sports cars since I got my license, so maybe I’m just used to it. Either way, I’m hoping to buy and install the sway bars by Thanksgiving break.

Mark, if I remember correctly, you’re running 265s up front and 295s in the rear? I’ve only put a few thousand miles on mine so far, but I’m already itching to give it a more aggressive stance in the back. Any recommendations?
At this current time, I am running a square setup (yes I know, not like me to do this). Summer setup 275/40R21, Winter setup 275/40R20

You were correct though, for the longest time my favorite staggered setup was 265/45R20 front, 295/40R20 Rear. Ran that setup for a couple of years on both of my '21's. Not sure what you mean about recommendations. Like what you think would be best for you on your lowered GT? We can really get into a huge discussion here. I assume if you want to go with a much wider tire, you will need to be getting new wheels but I thought you really liked the ones you have? If you want to keep your wheels, you can only go up one size to a 255/45R20 but that will only get you a tire that is 1/2" wider than what you have now.

255, got it. I’ll admit, I’m totally illiterate when it comes to wheels and specs. Honestly thought you were running wider tires on the same spec wheels. Back in my BMW days I used to run 305’s on 20s, but if you asked me the wheel specs… no clue. All I knew was they were BBS wheels, and I just rolled with it šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

My wheels are 9.5" for the 275's. When I run staggered setup with 275/40's in the front, my rears are 315/35's with 11" wheels. My Stag setup 265/45 F, 295/40 R have 9" & 10.5" wheel widths and 255/45 F, 285/40 R have 8.5" & 10" wheels widths. I've had several other setups but those are my most common.

What’s up everyone!

I’m new to the community, but I’ve been a longtime lurker. I used to drive a 2021 Mach E GTPE, but unfortunately it was totaled in an accident. At first, I was convinced my next car was going to be a Model Y Performance… but after following threads and posts from @MarkBorris and seeing what he’s done with his Mach-E, I couldn’t resist—I ended up buying another Mach-E! ā€œThank you sir!ā€

So far, the only mods are Eibach’s lowering springs for MagneRide along with their 20mm spacers. I’m happy with the drop, and while the wheels sit flush, I’m debating swapping the rears to a 25mm spacer. I’m also planning some interior upgrades from BSKT—I’ve already been in touch with them to get the ball rolling.

Hello everyone,

I first lowered my 2021 Mach-E AWD with springs from Cobra (Netherlands). The stance looked nice, but I noticed a strange knocking sound on the front axle when driving over all kinds of small, quick bumps in the road.

So in June this year, I replaced them with something much more professional: the KW V3 kit. Again, great looks, but unfortunately I’m still getting strange noises from the suspension.

(The sound is a bit like springs shifting against metal, but after some investigation I think that’s impossible.) The stabilizer links are still the original Ford MME ones.

Just wanted to share this here on the forum, and if anyone knows a solution for this noise, I’d be happy to hear it šŸ˜‰

Best regards,

D S (Belgium)

Hey, car looks great! You really can’t go wrong with KW—that’s what I’ve used in the past on my BMWs, and no matter how low or aggressive the stance was, the ride quality was always amazing.

Sucks to hear about the clunking issue. I haven’t experienced that on my new Mach, but I did have a similar situation on my 21 GTPE. It would only happen over train tracks or rough road patches, and it sounded like it was coming from the front left side.

I remember reading that sometimes Ford ships cars with some kind of protective cap or component on the suspension that doesn’t always get removed before delivery. Doesn’t sound super legit, but I mentioned it to the tech when I brought the car in around 11K miles. He couldn’t replicate the noise, but oddly enough, the sound disappeared after the visit.

Might not even be suspension in your case—could be something loose. Either way, I’m assuming you’re still under warranty, so that should give you some peace of mind. Good luck, and keep us posted!

It’s because you don’t respond all the often and people forget you even exist lol
Welp. Hopefully more recently you have all noticed more action from me.

That would be the "shipping blocks" for the suspension to prevent a car's suspension from compressing and possibly coming loose from its moorings during shipment. They generally didn't make the car noisy, just ride stiff as heck. šŸ¤”šŸ©

Also why does no one ever ask what I drive? šŸ¤”
Maybe because it's in your signature (although year and sub-model are not listed). 😁🐩

I think the more important question is does Brian drive or does the AI drive? Ain't no BC driving my car. Canine driving FTW! 🤪🐩

The driving is all me. Promise. Well, besides BlueCruise.

*This reply does not endorse dogs driving your Mach-E. Even with BC engaged.

Looks good! Have a question, does it bottom out or hit hard with the lowering springs you installed?

Thanks! No rub because the rear bump stops were trimmed about an inch. Look up MarkBorris write up and do / buy everything he suggests.
