I needed to drive from the Pittsburgh, PA region to Philadelphia, PA area (and then back.) It was mostly an uneventful trip, but wanted to mention a few things...

The trip was 313 miles each way (including jumping off the highway to recharge.)

The trip going East was on Thursday, Aug 8th and I found myself driving against the wind and into Tropical Storm Debby weather. I stopped twice for recharging, though I could probably have gotten away with a single recharge stop. The extra recharge stop worked out well to both address range anxiety, and to give me a break from driving in the rain. The car handles great in the rain, but bluecruise functionality was hit or miss.

At one point during the drive, the car's infotainment system stopped playing any music from Apple Carplay. The Siri voice still worked, and maps still talked, but no music. Trying to switch to Sirius resulted in the display just saying "Audio Off." Same for FM. Tapping the on/off touch area inside the volume ring didn't fix this. Neither did resetting sync. I ended up having to pull over, turn the car off, wait a few minutes, and then turn the car back on.

Driving back on the following Saturday was ALSO against the wind (but this time it was just the normal west to east wind) without any rain. Bluecruise (and everything else) worked for the entire drive. For this trip, I decided to make recharging stops at the same places I did for the eastbound trip. While it was completely unnecessary, I also stopped at a tesla supercharger to try out my lectron adapter (which worked fine) when I was almost home.

---

Except for the one Supercharger stop (where I spent less than $5), all my charging was done at Electrify America stations in Bedford, PA and Carlisle, PA. Both stations worked fine, though I found that the Carlisle station (which advertises up to 350kw) seemed slower than the Bedford, PA station. I still had over 200 free kWh's from the purchase of the car, so the charging at EA was free. If I didn't have that, I'd have preferred to charge at tesla stations as they tend to be around $0.10 cheaper per kWh when compared to EA stations in the same area.

The only issues I experienced during the drive were the "Audio Off" error, and the fact that the "trip" screens in sync are almost useless. (Ford, if you're reading this, either fix the stupid "trip" screens to have reasonable and accurate data, or just take them out and give us normal trip odometers on the instrument panel.)

BC didn't work in the heavy rain, but I really didn't expect it to.

I didn't bother to try and measure the car's efficiency. The drive east was extremely inefficient due to weather, and I just didn't care on the way back home. :)

The car's comfort was great. I know a lot of people have issues with the Mach-E's seats, but the seats in my GT (non-PE) are very comfortable.

Glad to hear the Electrify America stations in Bedford and Carlisle are AOK right now. Where did you stop for the SuperCharger? just curious. Thanks for the post.

New Stanton, PA. There is a single charger there I was able to pull next to, instead of in front of.
