Being that the Mach e has no spare has anyone installed Run Flat Tires on their Mach e ?
I had a set of Firestone RFT on my Corvette, and they were fabulous.
Considering them for my Mach e but would like feedback

Most cars produced in the last few years have no spare tire.

If you found a run flat tire, it would have to be capable of handling the load of this heavy vehicle.

They will be heavier and have more inertia, so range will be reduced. By how much is unclear.

From what I have seen in the 19" and above range - RFT with an XL rating have smaller width to sidewall ratios (ex 255/35). There isn't anything in the market in OEM sizes available.

Like others have said as well, RFT are noticeably heavier. Just keep a flat tire kit in your vehicle. although not ideal, it is better than nothing (the sealant integrated into the tire inflator).

On top of that - some folks are already complaining about bouncy/bad ride quality. With the weight of the MME and stiffer tires, I'm sure it will affect your ride quality.

I have run flat snow tires… XL rated produced for the BMW X5 if I recall - bought them from tire rack.

Not running them right now of course - but they worked fine all winter for 4,000 miles. I’ll put them back on late this fall.
