If you leave the car running, sometimes when it starts charging it will go into "accessory" mode. You can tell because the light in the start button is blinking; you can hold your foot on the brake and press start if it does that and it should go into "run" mode and blow cold air. You'll probably have to leave the key in the car

I thought you can’t run the car while charging? The time the AC did run was plugged into DC charger , other times seemed to not run cold air was with the J-1772 chargers, thanks so much for the reply

Let me explain this: if you're using the fob or a phone and want to go into the store while the car is running while someone else (adult) is in the car, you'll need to leave the fob/phone you're using as a key in the car with them

Wait you cannot turn on the car with the heater or air conditioner running remotely without a key using the phone. That is kind of a flaw for an electric car, and can cause some issues.

That is a different situation and you can remote start the car using the app to get the heater or A/C going. That isn't an issue.

In addition: You can program the car to do that at specific times all by itself.

If you do remotely turn it on, when you get in the car you must still press the brake and then the start button to be able to drive it.

Thanks, this is really helpful. This is one of the features of my husband's Tesla I really like that I would not want to lose with the Mach E.

Always make sure the car is on, if you want to run anything. Make sure you turn off the 30 minute off timer. No you do not have to leave fob in car.

If the 12 volt battery is lite up, you well drain it pretty quick. Then you are fucked.

I turned on the car last week while charging at EA. It was extremely hot out. I did get some sort of charge fault warning on the dash screen, but it went away when I was done. Everything seemed to work fine.

The car needs to be in Ready mode, not accessory.

Yeah, you need to actually put your foot on the brake, and hit the start button to get the AC to come on. Since its plugged in though, it won't actually fully start.
