If you are driving 1 pedal or in Unbridled then the brakes are not self cleaning through use. Change to Engage. Otherwise, everyone who replied has a point.
Drive mode has zero impact on how much your car uses friction brakes.

We use blended braking in every mode. The amount friction brakes are used is solely determined by how quickly you stop, not what mode you are in.

Even in whisper with 2PD, when you hit the brake pedal…… it is using regeneration to slow you down.

This confuses a lot of people because other cars (Tesla) don’t work the same way.

Mine look just like that.
It surprised me a bit because I’ve had two previous EV’s (Chevy Bolt and Tesla) and neither OEM rotors rusted anywhere near this amount even after cleaning. I know the Bolt has a different metal composition to keep them from rusting as they aren’t used as much as ICE vehicles.

that said, my car is only 2 months old and I’m having issues with repeat warped rotors. Not sure what is going on and probably not related to the surface rust. But others don’t seem to be reporting warped rotors much.

Mine gets that same rust, is this a known defect?

Warping is usually due to overheating wonder with regen how these rotors are overheating?
It’s not really a defect. Surface rust is an issue with most performance rotors.
These are performance rotors? Appear to be Ford's over the shelf everyday cast iron rotors and nothing special to me. Same rotors I have seen for years and years. The ones that rust and fall apart over time. They have increased mufflers longevity but rotors not so much.

You don’t have warped rotors, trust me……! Bill P

Mine have giant Brembo calipers attached to them and stop a 5,000 lb vehicle in a surprisingly short distance.

So yeah, I would say “performance.”

Performance and longevity don’t tend to go hand in hand.

Are you talking about the calipers or the rotors? Nothing special about the rotors that I see. Same old same old that I have seen for years. Not like they are drilled or anything special.

Drilled isn’t special.

The calipers go with the rotors. Yes they are made for performance. Just like the Brembos on my last car (Chevy SS) which also got surface rust any time they got wet.

Performance rotors aren’t going to look visually different.

Example- z51 Corvette C8 OEM rotors-

I've had warped rotors since the vehicle was new. It took way too many visits to the dealer to get them worked on the first time, they kept telling me there was no way the rotors could be warped. Finally a shop manager went on a drive with me, I slammed on the brakes, and he immediately said, "Yep, those are warped!". They turned the rotors under warranty.

The braking was back to normal for a few weeks, maybe a month at best, then warped again. I have gone way too long on the warped rotors and now at just over 52k miles, I have an appointment to get them worked on again. Sadly I expect to be paying for hit myself this time.

I don't brake hard, I don't do any of the things that would typically lead to warped rotors. I stop gently the majority of the time. Ever so often I get a loud moaning from the brakes because I don't like the car coming to an abrupt stop.

I wish I knew what was causing the rotors to warp so easily.

I might have finally just gotten it resolved. I had noticed the front right wheel was outputting considerable brake dust from normal driving. They replaced the front pads and rotors and the warping was gone for a few days then came back but so did the brake dust.
Ended up replacing the front right caliper. It’s been about a week and so far so good. I think it must have been dragging just a little bit and causing brake pad transfer onto the rotor causing the warped feeling.
If I have to replace the rotors out of warranty I’ll be getting aftermarket for sure if available.
