Yes, this has been an occasional issue. While your waiting on a tow, try turning the car off and kea I get it off … for quite awhile. After that, try turning it back in and see if the issue vanished.

Nowhere is the BEST PART!!! Wait for it Waaauiitttt
I can’t get a loaner car because I didn’t buy it from the dealership where it was towed!!!!

I was actually asked why I didn’t have it towed to my purchasing dealer Ummm it is 500 miles away!!!

This is exactly why I decided to go with the ordering process so I could order exactly what I wanted and also purchase from my local dealer so if there are problems that need to get serviced it will be with the selling dealer.

Keep in mind that the loaner policy is not a Ford thing, it is your dealer making that rule. The problem with the current setup is Ford does not have ownership of any of it's dealers and there are laws in place in each state prohibiting Ford from not going through the dealers to sell and service it's vehicles. The way it is set up there is very little Ford can do to make the dealer change it's policies. Until the laws change (which would be very hard to do) it is really beating a dead horse to expect any different.

The good news is with the MME, almost all of these problems are going to be traced to software or control units causing the problems since the car is really a big (and small) battery, 1 or 2 big electric motors, a ton of control units and the software running everything behind the scenes. Since it is so new I imagine almost every problem like this will generate a ticket with Ford where the tech at your dealer will be sending the error codes to Ford and their tech support will be advising on the repair.

I can only imagine how frustrating this is for you, but I do not know if I would go in guns blazing at first. You might find you things will go a little easier if you take a deep breath and let them try to resolve the problem first before going in ranting about how screwed up this whole thing is. As long as it does not need a part that is on back order, I am guessing your local dealer will have you back on the road in no time.

This ^^^

Too many car buyers (whether EVs or ICEs) don't understand that loaners aren't provided from nearly all manufacturers as part of warranty claims. Most dealers got rid of loaners years ago for liability reasons.

When I buy a new car from my dealership's GM, I negotiate a free loaner for every service. He knows I won't abuse it - just had it in for several days for body work, and I didn't take a loaner, because filling it with gas for the ride to/from the dealership wasn't worth it, just had my wife drive me back home in the truck and then went to pickup the car.

Hey, the replaced the BECM or something, took over a month, then it went down again 02/14 for another month and they did the same thing.

I just got it back recently, and so far so good.
