So I lost my wedding ring under the drivers side seat track.

Made its way into a tiny crevice where the only way to get it out is to remove the main bolt that secures the seat to the floor and lift the seat track.

Does anybody know what recommended torque should be when replacing the seat bolt? Not sure how big of a safety risk it is if I just “hand tighten” it as much as I can.

My wife thanks you in advance.

Must be properly torqued. Ask dealership to do it.

Chris, this is from the Mach-E repair manual:

Install the front seat bolts in the following sequence.
  1. Install the front inboard bolt. Torque: 41 lb.ft
  2. Install the front outboard bolt. Torque: 41 lb.ft
  3. Install the rear inboard bolt. Torque: 30 lb.ft
  4. Install the rear outboard bolt. Torque: 30 lb.ft

Chris, I will assume you know this but if not, those seat bots require a T50 Torx to tighten them.

I'm sure that Ford tells you to throw away/replace the bolts when reinstalling the seat for liability reasons.

I wouldn't hesitate to reuse them myself, but I would bet those bolts have a blue or even red threadlocker on them that needs to be reapplied.

It’s actually a T50P (plus). And yes you can just use blue lock tight.

You are correct Enzo, it is a T50P but most people don't have those and many auto parts stores don't carry them. It's normally a special order tool however when torquing to only 40 lb. ft. you usually shouldn't have an issue with the T50 as long as you keep pressure down on top of the ratchet.

In my 2021 Mach-E, the two front bolts of the front seat are T55P (Torx Plus). The two rear bolts of the front seat are T50P. No thread locker was on either of them.

This is true for all Mach-E’s. I just took the seats out of my ‘24 and they are the same.
