Volta Charge has the highest concentration of its chargers in California, ......
Started to look for Shell chargers because I have never liked free Volta charging as they were very slow L2 chargers at stores, malls, shopping centers.

I found a nearby Shell and it's $0.39/kWh on their 50kW CCS chargers but a further away location in Pasadena, CA has lots of 175kW chargers that charges a mere $0.15/kWh !

If only I went to Pasadena frequently....

Hoping the Volta turned into Shell will be replaced with high speed & low cost L3 chargers!

I thought this was a big-ish deal until I realized Volta is L2…meh.
Volta has a few DCFC.

They are low power and setup in locations where you will naturally spend a longer period of time(shopping, restaurants) so the lower power is fine. Makes installation cheaper from an electrical supply perspective.

Not all DCFC need to be 350kW.

If you are spending 2-3 hours at the outlet mall, 50kW makes perfect sense.

Good to know. Actually read (I think) the GM network of L2 will also be "high" powered, like maybe 24 or 25 kWh? That to me is the sweet spot for L2.

Around here I've used a few L2 sparingly (mostly out of curiosity) and they are just about all 6 kWh. I get 9 at home with the Ford charger...what am I missing here? Seems like a bit of a waste...

But I'm all for powerful L2
