I've had my MME FE since the end of January and today I noticed for the first time a short beep sound. I was thinking this sound may have been included in an update when you drive above the posted speed limit (after the variance the driver pre-sets), or when the speed limit sign recognition changes. But when I tested both the beeping sound was not consistent. Has anyone experienced this? If so, any idea what is causing the beeping? It would be nice for our MME to notify us when the speed limit changes and of we are above our pre-set speed limit as you are not always looking down at the speed display.

Low speed pedestrian alert. Less than roughly 18 mph? Or while backing up. The car is very silent snd the sound ensures the car will get noticed.

Or is this happening at a higher speed?

Happening at highway speeds of 40, 45, 55 MPH. No cars in front, a bit random

Do you have Waze running? I know that can have a speed alert enabled that beeps when you go a certain amount over the speed limit.

Do you have Lane Centering and Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control active? The car will chime every time it can't figure out the lane markings. When it is in operation, it will say Steering below the car icon in the center of the display. When the car can't figure out the lane markings, it will chime and say Cancelled.

+1 with srogers. It likely is the lane centering cancelling if you have that set.

What type of beep is it? Is it the short notification ding (if you have normal cruise set and put it into neutral it will make this ding), or something else?

Maybe try to get it on camera?

It is the Waze, I normally do not use Waze but I hit it by mistake. That is the only difference, thank you!! Not a bad feature to have, I may decide to use Waze now!!
