I have a reservation for a Premium standard range AWD in vapor blue with no build date yet assigned (reserved 10/7/22). My dealer has a GTPE scheduled to be delivered in mid-January and offered to let me buy it upon arrival then buy the GTPE back from me at full MSRP (plus sales tax) when my Premium arrives. This is a small dealership and I've purchased five cars previously from this ownership group (same salesperson for the last 20 years), so we have developed significant trust. Aside from the pride issue of flying first class with the GTPE then getting moved down the trim line in a few months, is there any reason I shouldn't do this?

Yeah I wouldn’t trust that. Imagine you get in an accident. They are not giving you full msrp + tax with that carfax. Seems like they are betting on you growing to love the gtpe

I would jump onto the deal like this. I would get to do the test drive for a long period of time to make sure I like the car.
