A few question about SiriusXM:

1. Does the dealer initiate the SiriusXM setup or registration before you take delivery, or is this left up to the customer to do after getting the car home?

I ask this because I have an existing SiriusXM account with a different radio ID, and it certainly makes sense that the radio for this car be added to my current account.

2. Anyone know the length of subscription that comes with the Mach-E?
3 months? 6 months? 1 year? More than 1 year? Is the subscription length different between Canada and the USA?

Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

Once you get the car simply call SXM have the radio id handy and they will add it (and any free months) to your account.

Its pretty simple, other than SXM's customer service: be prepared to wait LOL.

I don't know how many months come with the car, but I'm sure the SXM people can tell you.

The dealer really doesn't do anything with SXM; you just give SXM a call.

Ford only comes with 3 months free, which is kind of a bummer. FCA vehicles come with a year.

you can activate a radio fully online (I just did it less than a month ago) if you're willing to go with the "rack" rate. no need to talk to anybody.

now, if you want to wheel and deal, yeah, you need to call. just give them the "yeah I kind of like it but it's too expensive" speech. then call them again and threaten to cancel. it's exactly like cable or whatever.

My time is worth enough that I don't bother with that. (*)

It's not actually difficult anymore. Just a single call and tell them that you want a better rate. They'll give you whatever promo they have at the time. When I called a couple of months ago, they offered $5/mo for Select or $6/mo for All Access. The regular rates are $16.99/mo and $21.99/mo respectively. I'll deal with a 5 minute call once a year for those kind of savings.
