I believe that the extra channels are streaming only, so you'd need to use the phone app. Internet bandwidth is "infinite", satellite bandwidth, not so much.

FWIW, the Serius/XM app is in CarPlay. If you have unlimited internet, you can pull up the app in CarPlay and have access to all of the streaming channels (depending on your subscription).

What does the toggle do in the car settings? I don't have a subscription for the car so I wasn't able to validate what it adds.

Yes, I do know about that, in fact my wife does that in her Kia Soul EV (no sub in it), but we live in the boonies and cell service is not ironclad around our house.

I think were outta luck . I have the same question and desire for the XTRA channels.
AI said to make sure that you have Sirius . The second recommendation said to make sure your radio is ON.
Im not too worried about AI killing us all if this is what passes for intelligence .

No….some extra channels are available, but not everything that’s in the app.

I think this thread jinxed me. As of this morning, I no longer get extra channels. The preset for each now shows “SDAS”.

Maybe it’s an April Fool’s joke?

I haven't done a lot of checking but this sounds correct. In my car I am able to listen to The Loft, Ch 710 (great station, BTW) without needing to boot my phone app. It is slow to load sometimes, however, waiting for internet connection. I haven't figured that out yet...I am not paying for a seperate wifi connection.
