AKA an Ice Crystal. It's a reminder that there might be ice on the road. This is the first car I've ever driven that had this complete of a warning system.

" Europeans get lots of cool stuff that we aren’t allowed to have ? "

what do we have that you don't have?
most 'nice to have' items can be enabled with UCDS

a quickclear windscreen is standard feature for EU ponys

i could add a German price list showing all features we have, however it would be in German so you would have to translate

from EU standpoint we see things you have and we don't
example would be the volume knob now to be used to adjust cooling heating and other APIM items, or on the Escape the auto door closing when staring to drive

This snowflake symbol warns the driver that frost or ice is present. Sensors detect outside air temperature. The warning light symbol will illuminate amber in color when the air temperature outside the vehicle is between +4°C (39°F) and 0°C (32°F).

What we don’t have is PaaK, nor (in the U.K. anyway) hands-free driving. Our software versions are waaay behind the ‘States.

It’s interesting reading some of the replies though - pretty much every car I’ve had (in the U.K.) for the last 20 years has had a ‘snowflake’ warning symbol come up at 3Celsius or lower. Even the little Renault Clio runabout ($12k new) has one. Reading folks’ comments about never having it before really does make me wonder at differences between US and Europe (ostensibly built by the same company).
On all my previous cars the snowflake disappears after 5mins or so.

Perhaps Ford thinks we are very forgetful ;)

I don't think that should be on the list quite yet since nobody in the North America has it yet either, and it's quite possible that it will come to Europe as well.

Adaptive matrix headlights,
yes this ist current Standard in Premium MME, next step already in test phase is the headlights projecting road signs and other informatin for the driver right on the pavement.

Tow hook
Yes that is a nice feature I will have as well as soon as my Pony arrives. Another user here -21st-century-pony- an EU towbar and installed IT

Trailering
Sorry, need your Help on this iitem. What do you mean by trailering? Is that towing a trailer? Having a towbar with a gooseneck hook I see No issue

The Volume knob to be used on other APIM items is a US first feature as here in EU - at least in Germany - there is no information abouti it. And the other issue is the time Ford takes for update

Could you please show me how to enable the QuickClear windscreen on US cars via ForScan? And while you’re at it, show me how I can turn on the cold matrix headlamps you guys get ???
The software upgrade to the volume control knob hasn’t rolled out to us yet.
A friend of mine has anMY22 Escape Titanium with the technology package. I ASSURE you that the doors do not “automatically close” when he puts it in drive! Not sure where you’re getting your data on US spec ford’s ?

Trailering is absolutely NOT supported by ford in the US. I know people have put 3rd party trailer hooks on their cars. I hate to hear what happens if they get into an accident and the insurance company (or law enforcement) finds out that an unapproved modification to the vehicle might have contributed to the accident.

I don’t know this, but I suspect we don’t get the tow hook simply because stupid Americans would use it improperly instead of for the limited purpose it’s meant (dragging the car into a flatbed).

sorry don't know how to enable quickclear with ForScan as I am using UCDS. But first of all you need to have the quickclear windshield.
Volume control knb not been rolled out yet, OK, but it's comming.
last time I have been in the States I rented an Escape and he had it. Since then I programmed that myself with UCDS, go to IPC then DE08 and find speedlock => enable. The Escape was a MY20 and it worked fine on mine and some other.
Same question to you where you get the information fom what we have?

I will get my Pony within the next 3 weeks then I can certainly tell you more upon possible mods via UCDS

well the EU tow bar is approved by Ford, even in Germany where you can drive somewhat faster than in the US. Who is that stupid? dragging the car into a flatbed by the hook?

That hook however is very convenient when you need to pull someone out of the creek/river

There may be a language issue here. Just what do you mean when you say “auto door closing”? Do you mean that any doors that are open will automatically close? I’m not aware of any cars with a feature like that. Our cars hove “presenters” on each door, which move the door open a few centimeters when you press the button to open the door on the outside pillar. European Mustang Mach Es have the same feature.
Changing a windscreen is very expensive and the QuickClear windscreen can not even be purchased in the US, so it effectively doesn’t exist in our market. Same for the active matrix headlamps. That is more of a government regulation thing although, I doubt US cars will get them even if the regulations change. They’ll be reserved for very expensive cars like Audis and MB. We will continue to use tea candles in Ball jars.
