My 22 MME has been telling me for multiple days it will install an update for 'Streamlined charging and diagnostics' at my selected update time of 8 PM, but keeps failing because something else was 'active'. I see that message after giving it 20 to 30 or more minutes to complete before restarting the vehicle.

I've also tried starting the update early but it has failed to update multiple times. The failure message is so generic I have no idea what it is failing for.

I don't understand if the car still has to download and then install the new software, or if the wording means it's downloaded but still needs to be installed.
Also I don't see anything running that could be getting in the way of the installation.

Any sage advice will be appreciated.

I think the current level is 23-PU1113-UNX-DC and the level it's trying to install is 24-PU0102-CHG-SOFX

You prolly have a low SOC on the 12 volt battery. I was having the same issue on our 21 & 22 Mach e's do you have a way of checking the SOC on your 12 volt battery?

Not that are obvious. I haven't gotten any warning messages about the tvb, just generic 'Im busy' kind of messages.

Ok, I'm going to drive the car down to about 50% and then charge it overnight at 10 amps/220 V and retry the update in the morning.

Thanks for the input ?.

I experienced the exact same issue trying to install the 24-PU0102-CHG-SUFX software update. Second time I've had this issue with an update. I followed the same recommended approach from this forum that worked the last time, which was to slow charge the batteries with the 110V outlet on the Ford Mobile Charger. My understanding is that the Ford website under one's personal account shows the SOC for the LVB. When the LVB SOC was 86% per the Ford website, I started the software update and it initiated successfully.

Try turning off all 12 volt usage like heating and warmers, seems to work for me.

The very useful smart phone widget for Android and Apple phones (see Ford Status Widget in Google Play Store) displays the 12V battery charge status right on the phone screen.

Just did a widget search on my iPhone and this doesn't appear to be available just yet, but hopefully soon because it would be helpful.
Oh it's there. A fellow member coded it a while ago.

I have an Android phone but perhaps an Apple user can help here. Try the Apple play store.

Finally managed to get the update by charging to 99%, a change level I haven't been at since driving the car home from the dealer. The last part of the charge was very slow and the charger was pushing about 3 amps at 240 volts after starting at 40 amps at the beginning of the charge. I also got a bonus install of the Tesla charger update out of the deal.

I hope Ford comes up with an easier home install routine to make this more user friendly in the future?

i had the same update succeed on the third attempt. Failed twice with a generic message that one of preconditions was not met. I checked my LVB and it was 99% and used the update now button and it worked.
