Software update screen

Hi everyone. Newer Mach E owner here. Bought a 2023 back at the end of March. I’m trying to figure out the software update. My car keeps getting stuck on the software update page. I am connected to my home WiFi. I waited about 30 minutes and it never changed from this screen. Any advice? Thank you!

You can try a forced sync reboot by holding the volume down + next track buttons on the right side of the steering wheel for about 5 seconds. That should force sync to refresh all the pages and re-establish comms with the modules in your car.

I would also suggest leaving the car off + locked for at least 30 min and then trying again if the first suggestion doesn’t help. I’ve seen this loading screen come up on my car too but it usually fixes itself after a few seconds or a reboot.

I tried the forced sync and it still didn’t work.
I’ll let it sit for 30 minutes and see if I can try again later.
when I turn it on, it does not automatically sign into WiFi. Not sure if that’s also an issue. I had to manually sign into the WiFi every time.

it started today where it won’t go past this screen when I choose software updates. But my phone has been telling me I have an update coming in 24 hours for a few days now.

You don't do anything with the app. Drive the car. Then, if there is an update, it will download and install, or prompt you to do so. Automatic updates on. Schedule is only for applying already downloaded updates that require immobility.

WiFi is irrelevant. You need an AT&T cellular signal.

If the update has been scheduled, it has been successfully downloaded. Correct?? Doesn't the OP just need to wait for the scheduled install at 1:00AM tomorrow?

I don't trust FordPass. Until I see that message on the car's screen, no.

I have automatic updates on. I’ve tried connected to WiFi and disconnected and I still can’t get past the “getting the latest software updates status” screen. It says it will take a minute or so. But nothing happens. It just continues to load. Not sure why I can’t get it to go through.

You don't trust Ford Pass?? What would make you say such a thing (sarcasm intended)? I definitely agree that driving the car is a good idea. Can't hurt. If that doesn't do anything, I would recommend waiting for the overnight install and not spend a lot of time trying to trouble shoot an issue that could be resolved with the install. At least then the OP will be able to take the next steps.

OP: Make sure your 12V battery is charged to at least 85% before the install tonight.

I’m currently at 32% and won’t get to 85% by 1am. Is that an issue?
I appreciate everyone’s assistant on this. Ridiculously frustrating.

Oh maybe I’m thinking just my car. I have no idea how to measure my 12 volt battery. Sorry I’m so ignorant about all of this.

We all were when we first received our cars. Unfortunately, the easiest way to see your 12V battery charge level is thru your ford.com account. Do you have a Ford.com account?

Yes. That I have access to and use frequently. I don’t know where to go to see the 12v though.
