My Galaxy Note 21 Ultra with a thick case that includes a kickstand charges just fine.

Just another "Thanks!". Ordered online through Craftcloud - arrived today. Looks great, fits perfectly, works perfectly with my iPhone12 + magsafe case. A fantastic fix. Appreciated!

@Dafstang - Thanks again for creating and sharing your model.

I used a cloud service to print one and am having mixed results. I'm curious about your experience.

Without your template, It's challenging to get the phone to stay in position. Your template addresses that. But what I'm seeing is that the phone charges more slowly than I would expect and, on top of that, I've had it overheat a couple of times such that it shows a message indicating that it's too hot on the phone screen and CarPlay basically stop working.

My phone, like yours, is an iPhone 12 Pro in a MagSafe case, though I use a Spigen Ultra Hybrid Mag, not the Apple case.

I have long-term experience with wireless CarPlay in a BMW and a Porsche. These experiences are new.

I'm wondering if slow charging is an issue with the MME but I'm also wondering if your template might be contributing to the overheating issue because it's wraparound design reduces airflow and, consequently, cooling. Have you seen either of these issues?

I'm tempted to explore options that involve using a MagSafe adapter versus the car's built-in charger. If I had your design skills and access to a 3d printer, I'd consider making a part that allowed a MagSafe charger to come up from the bottom and sit flush with the top of the part. It would have some strategy for cable management underneath and would have the minimum amount of cable extend out the top and then into the USB-C port on the car.

My Porsche Macan has wireless CarPlay but no wireless charging. I'm no good with 3d design printing, so I hacked together a wireless charging solution that hides a 12-volt adapter and the MagSafe charger cable in the ashtray and then I used Sugro and a 3rd party mount. It actually works really well and that's what's got me wondering about something similar in the MME, though ideally better designed. This is what it looks like in my other car.

Thought I would run this by you as both a question about whether you're seeing similar issues and an open question about whether or not you might be interested in trying something different. If you're not, I may just get some more Sugro and give it a whirl :)
