I have looked up all the information I can find on replacement key fobs for my '23 GT.

I bought the car used from a non-Ford dealership who only had 1 key fob.

I don't know if it was new with 1 or 2 fobs.

I have read the posts that say you must have 2 factory keys in order to program a 3rd without involving the dealership and lots of cost.

What are my options to get the F-150 fob with the frunk button and program it by myself. Is it even possible?

You only have two options. The dealer or a locksmith.

When/if you get that fob and want to have a dealer program it - make sure you call around to different dealers near you. Prices vary wildly for that programming. Some people have paid $150-$200 just to program 1 key (which is outrageous).

I would think the non ford dealer kept the key fob to have access to your car just in case they wanted it back. Go to a Ford dealer with the best price for a new key fob and programming, but also have any key fob that’s not yours erased !

When talking about the price with the dealer or locksmith, remind them that software programming only and they don't have to create a physical key.

Is it official that you can't program Mach-E fobs with Forscan?
From what I've read, yes. Even if you use the official FDRS app, you can't use any old account. It has to be a verified dealer service dept or a locksmith to program a fob. This is for security purposes so a thief can't just wipe the paired fobs and pair their own.

Only 2021 Job1 cars came with just 1 key. 2021 Job2 and later cars shipped from the factory with 2 keys. As others have said, you must have 2 keys in order to program a new key into the car yourself. You will definitely need a locksmith or a dealer to prog a new key to your car and to remove an old key from your car. ??

FORScan can program keys on older vehicles, but not the last few model years.
