Key Fob Alternatives

I've had our MME about a year and a half. The first 6 months I could never get the PaaK to work consistently. Since then, it works perfectly. I no longer carry the fob. The only time I have a problem, I just pull my phone out of my pocket and the PaaK works.

And your cars unlocks the same as with the FOB ?
Cause mine never did, I must open the app and unlock with the app

Maybe just order a third FOB extract the electronics and embed it inside a bracelet, pretty sure it is doable.

Yes. On rare occasions, I have to open the app on my phone but it's very rare. I do have to pull my phone out of my pocket sometimes. I don't carry the fob anymore.

my PAAK is very reliable now after ford improved it with updates. When it was initially released, I get no key detected sometimes. Now, none. Haven't used fob is 2 years. Just make sure the phone does not kill the App in background.

Bought my wife a MachE and I was curious if there are any key fob alternatives out there? I also have a tesla and I know I can get a key card ring for instance and I know the Jag Fpace has the braclet that works as the transponder key. Curious if anything like that exists for the mache. We both are snooty and hate carrying key fobs, hah.

On the Mustang you can use your phone as a key.
There are several things that can happen when you use your phone.
1. Both the Mustang and the phone can be updated and one or the other will cause the phone as a key to not work.
2. You may leave your phone at a restuarant in a mall and not realize where you left it. It may be stolen which would put you in a bad situation.
I trust my key fob much more than my phone.

My wife isnt very techy and I am just looking for more straight forward options that just work 100% of the time so I dont have to field complaints, haha.

I find that kind of annoying at times. Especially when my hands are full. It’s as if my pockets are lead lined.

Fob will still unlock the car and allow it to start even without battery. If you put the fob close to the door pular it will unlock

Have you tried unlocking the car that way?

2 years exclusively on PAAK with no issues.
I’ve used the backup password maybe twice.
I’ve had to drop it off at the dealership twice, and forgot to take the key with me both time. ??‍

I drove from Maryland to Detroit knowing my hotel had valet parking. About an hour into the drive I realized I'd forgotten the key fob. Good news: the valet codes worked just fine. However, make sure to get all your luggage out before you set up the valet codes!

The only place willing to even entertain the valet code was Discount tire. The dealer rescheduled both times. Such Primadonnas.

The easiest alternative is to use you phone as a key (PaaK). Once setup, it works exactly like a key fob. In addition, be sure to setup a new door PIN code, and a password start password. Then, you have multiple options. If the phone is lost, damaged, or just dead, you can enter your car using the keypad, and if you enter using the keypad, you can start the car with a password.

obviously, this could be very prone to theft if you don’t take adequate measures. Pick a pin that uses several of the numbers and which you can remember but which is not something simple like birthdates or address numbers, nor zip codes.
Then pick a strong pass phrase that you can remember, but have never used anywhere. Google how to create a passphrase if you don’t know what this is.
