Hi,
I thought i read some other prior threads which I can't seem to find about people blowing out their front middle speaker. we now have the same issue. it is especially noticeable if we use the Ford built in navigation , and on certain songs at higher volume. Like a crackling sound.

I thought I read this is a problem with how they are made in which case I would buy a third party speaker rather than having the dealer replace whatever is stock. Can someone confirm is this a common issue and best route replace with stock or a new speaker?

thanks

Search for “Center Speaker”. It is definitely a thing to blow out the center front speaker. You can search for “Audio Upgrade” to find ideas if you want to go aftermarket. My suspicion is that this speaker is the weakest link, and is the first to go when the system is overdriven. I am convinced there are navigation alerts that utilize the center speaker primarily when the system as a whole is already at a high drive level. At least one forum member reports having replaced it three times.

Hey there! If you send over a DM with your VIN and Ford dealer info, I can look into your concerns on my end.

I had this issue, and it started when an Android Auto issue with a Windows-like sound screeched through all the speakers. The front speaker was the worst, and took 2.5 months for my local dealership to address some of this. Ford told the dealership it's addressed with code, which isn't true. I told the dealership day one that all speakers were blown out, and to replace the speakers. They didn't listen, they called Ford and were told to follow these steps before replacing the speaker (yes singular). Even though the front speaker was replaced, problem still exists across the remaining speakers but not as bad (highs are affected).

During the service, the dealership took off the front left pillar and broke the clip and left it broke. They were able to get it to stick and when I noticed all these fingerprints on the window, I just touched the pillar and it popped off. Not sure why they took off the pillar but they didn't address the broken clip even when I called the Service Manager last month. I'm turning in the car today at a different dealership because I hit the HVJB issue on Thanksgiving. The day before I picked up my car with the speaker issue, the HVJB recall notice was sent out and the dealership said the parts are backlogged and they would contact me (it's been over a month) so I'm throwing in the towel on this car as I still have other open issues (e.g. people can hear you, but you can hear them). I like the design, the drive, and the experience so leasing another Mach E, but have to pay 2 months of end lease payments even though I'm buying another Mach E.
