I have a 2021 Job 2, and this has happened twice now, 2 weeks apart. I turn the car on and there is an immediate loud, sharp “THUNK” from the speakers. Try the radio and nothing is working. Drive for awhile, turn the car off, turn it on again a short time later and everything’s fine. The most recent time this happened, it made the thunk sound when I turned the car off as well. It’s loud enough that it made me jump.

Anyone else experienced this?

Good morning. Could you privately message us with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer so I can look into this speaker concern? Thank you!

That’s interesting. This happened to me for the very first time, after nearly 3 years of ownership, just a few days ago. I was listening to Spotify through Apple CarPlay but I have no idea what caused it. It was a very large staticky thunk and loss of audio from the rear passenger speaker. It was very startling.

Happened a few days ago to me too, and I was also in CarPlay. I found that going to the Sirius/XM radio (just the preview channel was fine) and letting it sit a second until it started playing and then moving it back to CarPlay took care of the issue, but that could have just been happenstance. It's happened on two separate occasions to me in two years of ownership.

I experienced this in September... Yes, very startling.

In my case, the initial loud bang was followed by continuous, discordant high pitch tones from all the speakers for the next 10 minutes or so. I couldn't figure out how to make it stop, including trying to restart the vehicle and restart SYNC. Eventually I tried switching to FM Radio and this made the speaker system reset back to normal.

My prior post on this in an existing topic regarding the same issue: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/high-decibel-“static”noise-arcing.17346/post-697986

This happened to me about a month ago as soon as I started my car. I was on SiriusXM and it would not play any sound no matter the station. Luckily, CarPlay still worked so I listened to it. When I got to my next stop and let the car sit for a while, it was fine when I turned it back on. I originally was worried the speakers blew or something.

Usually speakers thumping means the 12V battery is low. The amplifier doesn’t have enough power to boot up properly so it just thumps and gets stuck in a boot loop.

If it thumps, turn the car fully ON right away and let the battery charge for a while. Switch to FM radio and make sure that works. Do not ever use accessory mode (power light flashing) since that drains the 12V battery.

I had this happen to me. It sounded like somebody was beating on my car or either. Somebody was throwing snowballs at the car, I was at a Shopping Center in the parking lot and it was 9 PM at night and it startled me so bad that I was afraid to drive the car and while driving it happened again so I turned off the radio and disconnected my phone and it went away but my car is currently at the dealership and they don’t think that anything is wrong because they cannot duplicate the concert. I don’t know what to do, but I know that I would be afraid to drive a vehicle.
