SSM 51547 2021-2022 Mustang Mach-E - Alarm Activation With Motion Sensor Function Disabled

Some 2021-2022 Mustang Mach-E vehicles may experience an alarm activation even after the motion sensor function has been disabled through the pop-up menu at ignition off. If the customer wants to turn off the motion sensors for a key cycle, they can go to the center display screen: Vehicle > Settings > Alarm System > Motion Sensors off. The motion sensors will be re-enabled on the next key cycle. This condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected in June 2023. Monitor OASIS for additional information.

----End SSM----

Well, this has been a bug for a little while...

So does disabling motion sensors on a 2023 actually work?

Wow, just wow. Bizarre that they can't figure out how to keep the lights on Auto or turn off the motion sensors (or load the right profile or open the door on the first try or....) Sigh.

Well, the headlight fix that was expected in November of 2022 still isn't available, so June 2023 in Ford time would be towards the end of 2023 at the earliest. You'd think Ford would have learned to stop putting dates on things.

So Does this SSM mean that the motion sensors can actually be disabled for an entire key cycle? Would this provide "pet mode"?

Fixing the bug would be nice, but what they should focus on is changing the sound it makes. It’s embarrassing! If it weren’t for the flashing lights, folks would be looking for a Fiesta or Fusion, not a Mustang.

i have always assumed that it didn't work, based on conversations here. but maybe it does?

Lock it with the windows down, come back 5 minutes later and wave your hand inside the car.

Exactly. (Well that, or actually meet their stated dates, and if they can't tell us. You know, like a customer-driven company.)

Funny because I had my alarm go off this afternoon for no reason at all. All I can think of is maybe I have a fly in the car somewhere. At least it didn't happen in the middle of the night again (yet.)

Ok guys, fair warning. I’m about to use a few choice swear words. If you are offended by swear words, please scroll on.

What in the actual FUCK, @Ford Motor Company. This SSM is the definition of GASLIGHTING.

“Ok, so we give you this stupid pop up… that doesn’t work. So instead, all you have to do every time before you turn off your car is go to the center display screen: Vehicle > Settings > Alarm System > Motion Sensors off. It’s that easy! And this will work for one whole key cycle!”

GOD DAMN IT, FORD. THIS IS FUCKING ASININE. STOP GASLIGHTING US AND FIX YOUR PIECE OF SHIT SOFTWARE.

And @Ford Motor Company pretends this is a "feature." GMAFB.

To quote Dr. Grace Augustine... "You see? You see? They're pissing on us and not even giving us the courtesy of calling it rain."

Of course! It's very very simple. All you have to do, before turning off the car, is go to Vehicle > Settings > Alarm System > Motion Sensors off. And it will stay off for one whole key cycle! THANK YOU @Ford Motor Company FOR THIS BRILLIANT DESIGN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God damned assholes. I'm going to start calling Ford on a daily basis. I am going to make it my life's mission to annoy the shit out of them.
