There’s nothing wrong! That’s the sound of your car! It’s normal. You’re just not used to it. The sound is more obvious at roughly 30 mph, but we’ve all been listening to the sound ICE cars make when we drive them and so that different sound makes you feel like something’s wrong. It’s not. I barely notice it anymore.
Well Arthur, there was no whine until about three months ago so I doubt it's normal. There is also a TSB concerning the whine.

I can only speak for myself. It's been there since first drive and I determined fairly quickly that this was just the sound this car makes. Perhaps you didn't notice it before three months ago. The TSB may have been started based on a complaint rather than an actual issue.

TSBs aren't issued because of complaints unless the manufacturer confirms there is a problem.

OK, then where else is this being reported? This is not the first time I've seen this mentioned, but you're the first person to assume that there is a serious issue. Has anyone else reading this heard of this as a problem in need of a part repair or replacement? I have not. I still think this is the normal noise the car makes until demonstrated otherwise.

My wife said she noticed the whine when she turned the radio down. I told her to turn the radio up and the issue would disappear. That was 3 months ago and she hasn't mentioned it since then.

I brought my 2022 Premium 4X to the dealer last month for its annual check-up and at the same time mentioned the whine at 30-38 mph. The tech confirmed the whine and followed TSB 23-2168 to "reduce the noise." As the notes on the repair statement acknowledge, the whine wasn't eliminated, just reduced.

Not the same at all. You said that you didn't get any alerts which would be consistent with an oil light on an ICE vehicle.

I'd call the whine an alert but Ok.

Sorry, man. I'm not trying to tick you off, but I feel like you're determined for this to be an issue when it may just be a normal sound the car makes. I've been hearing that sound at around 30 mph for four months with no ill consequences. Granted there is the possibility that we are talking about two entirely different sounds. I am perfectly happy to admit I'm wrong if an actual issue turns out to be the cause. I just don't think it is. Clearly, it's time we agree to disagree. ?

Hi there, I'd be happy to look into your Mach-E concerns on my end. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.
Just Joined. I have been having similar problems with my 2023 Mach-E bought new about 6 weeks ago. The noise started at about 600 miles just after I had done a couple of 0-60 runs, the first time it has been driven hard. The noise is exactly as discribed beween 30 and 40 MPH under light throttle. Previously there was very little noise at all.
I have been doing some extensive research on line regarding this issue and although it sounds like a mechanical noise from the front motor there appears to be a software fix for it MC-10237140-0001.pdf (nhtsa.gov) . It would seem that the noise is something to do with an inbalance of power between the 2 motors under certain light load conditions.
I would be interested in any comments and if Ford can fix it here in the UK

Ford contacted me and said someone would be getting in touch with me soon. I think they meant soon in glacial time. Nothing for months.

As Arthur wrote "there is nothing wrong" and I will agree with his statement, but I will not agree with "used to it". I have it on my 2023 Premium Extended AWD from day one I took possession of the vehicle in August 2024, and I never got used to it. I drive mainly in the city, so I hear it all the time on the top of the uncurbable tinnitus I have (about 15% of the adults have it).
It looks like many 2023 have it (checked on two vehicles). Couple of dealerships were unable to do anything about it. My requests for help to Ford Canada CS was "voice in a desert".
So yes, there is nothing wrong with the cars, other than a design flaw.

I’m just waiting for my ass end to grenade. I wish it’d hurry up and blow.
The car, not me from the burrito bowl.
