First, I pay for ALL the connectivity options. So there shouldn't be any feature not present/available to me. Vehicle is NEW 2025 Premium.

I have ALL the things activated, specifically:

  • Alexa
  • CarPlay x2 (Me/Wife)
  • Ford Native Apps
  • Car as a WiFi hot spot

I have had the following issues:
  1. Ford "Native" Navigation / Maps never works, and throws an error about going into Connectivity Options.
    • Going to the Connectivity "Drop Down" NOTHING HAPPENS. 🤔
  2. Alexa refuses to play music from other (non-Amazon) streaming Apps. (e.g. Alexa open Soma FM and play Underground 80s)
    • This worked the very first day/time I used Alexa after setup, but never again.
    • This also seems the case for Alexa paired services like Tune-In, Soma.fm, Pandora)
  3. CarPlay pretty much works.
  4. Radio FM comes and goes. Radio will be playing and just stop. Returns eventually.
  5. Checking for Updates SPINS forever with no updates
  6. BluCruise was not available last trip on a trip that is has always been available on.

Hypothesis:

I think my system is confused by all of the options. I think Alexa is listening for wake-word, Siri is listening for wake-word. Ford is listening for wake-word. I think this is what is cutting out the "Radio" when it is playing or some Nav Instructions.
It also seems that if CarPlay is active it disables Ford Native Services.

Anyone having similar issues?

  • Is it documented somewhere that IF CarPlay is active Alexa & Ford services are crippled?
  • Anyone have the MISSING [Connectivity Menu] drop down options?
Thanks!
P.S. I am going to start by disabling CarPlay on our phones to see if the Native and Alexa features work at a minimum. I am resisting a factory reset and having to reprogram PAAK and Backup stuff.

I just use CarPlay and radio (FM/SXM) so don’t have any experience with your other issues. But you can try:

Soft reboot the system by holding volume down and next track on the steering wheel until the screen goes black.

If that doesn’t work, hard reboot the system by disconnecting the 12V battery cable for a few minutes. (Might want to take note of SXM radio presets first in case they get lost, but other settings should be preserved).
