I think it is related to the dealer allocation in March. They are scheduled until March and probably want to go thru the dealer allocation and builder order process so they can better schedule batches work with the supply chain. That is just my theory. Hopefully I am way off and I get a build week soon but I am thinking March.
I’d be ecstatic with March. Based on other’s experiences April or May seems more likely.

My point was just that Ford can only ride the wave of enthusiasm so far when deliveries are several months out.

I did. I had been staying in touch with the sales manager at Veterans Ford and I tracked the VIN of their service loaner to know when to ping him after the vehicle showed delivered.

I test drove it the night it came in - they were very nice and let me drive it with no hassles. That also helped secure the deal for me - I have not had a great experience trying to buy or test drive at Tesla (I’m hoping the Ford dealer network will be a competitive advantage in my case).

Give Veterans Ford a call. Sean Berger is the New Car Sales Manager.
Awesome! I called three different dealers that showed cars delivered and nothing. So this car is still on the lot?

That I don’t know. Give them a call. They said it was their service loaner and they had to keep it available for test drives, etc.

Right ... each dealer gets a FCTP car (the "demo" car). The dealer has to keep it for test drives until it reaches 4000 miles *or* I think 60 days (I have also heard 4 months ... so I'm not sure on that part). After that they can sell it. But I think it will show up when you do a inventory search ... they just can't sell it until either the miles or time has elapsed.

They have it but it can only be test driven on the lot for some reason.

I'm happy to just finally see it in person.

Thank you so much for the help.

Sure thing! That’s unfortunate and will probably backfire with that policy. I 100% would have passed on locking in my order if I hadn’t been able to take it out on the roads for a test drive. They did make me sign a unique waiver, so maybe they’re figuring out how to work the test drives off property.

I'm going tomorrow and will see what the deal is. The guy on the phone said that Ford has made them stop test drives until further notice.

That's strange? My wife and I took a test drive Wednesday and we were allowed to take the Mach E out alone (no salesman) and were out driving about 30 minutes. They literally had the car dropped off by the truck that morning and they prepped it and called me immediately to drive it. My wife and I were the first people to drive the car (even before the dealer's staff). No mention of Ford saying test drives were suspended (unless this happened after Wednesday).

Wow that doesn’t sound good. I did my test drive on Tuesday the 9th. Something must have come up since then. The sales rep that helped me with the key fob and all seemed to be really excited to get people in it for test drives.

Well I will keep you guys updated. It's the first I have heard of anybody not being able to take out a dealer car.

My St. Pete dealer has reached out to me a couple times about taking out their demo (Star White CR1) for a test drive. Just couldn't get out there this weekend but will try next weekend. They certainly didn't mention anything about it having to stay on the lot! ?

If it's AutoNation they told me today the car is not available any more. I must have a bad phone voice ?

Yes AutoNation, but what do you mean by not available? For a test drive? It's a dealer demo, so it isn't available for purchase (yet), of course.

I was told they no longer have it. When I searched the inventory tracker it appeared as on their lot.

That's bizarre. My salesman just emailed me about it again this afternoon.
