Over half of the members that submitted come from these 6 locations. (332 ~54%). If this is any indication of total distribution, Ford needs to show us some love! ;)

Hi all - Submitted my order information. Looking at that chart, as someone who ordered in late December, is quite depressing! Still no build date, of course.

Ordered and form submitted! Hopefully I still get one in 2021! I suppose I'd be OK if I got rolled over to a MY2022, but I still hope for something in 2021 calendar year.

How did you get the dealer to make the change? I have a VIN but it hasn’t been produced. The dealer said too late to make a change.
You usually cannot change anything once you have a VIN. But some people would just re-order a different car. The VIN specifies things such as the model, drivetrain, etc. so certainly nothing major can be changed and let you keep the VIN. But even minor changes (such as color, etc.) are not allowed (they batch cars of the same color to build on the same day ... a change in color would force the build to be rescheduled and that can screw up more stuff because now they could move a car into that empty slot. But in a "just in time" inventory system where everything comes to the plant in the order in which cars are scheduled for build ... it messes with the supply chain.

An example of how extreme they are when they say no changes can be made once you have the VIN... my dealer forgot to add the interior protection package (floor mats). To "install" floor mats at the plant, someone will toss the floor mats in the back of the car at the end of the assembly line. The dealer will put them in as part of the dealer prep. Even that change was not allowed and I had to order the floor mats via the parts department.

That’s right. I went from SR to ER battery because I didn’t have a VIN yet and today he deleted the front license plate bracket so I can use the Craigs’ bracket I bought. He told me the same thing, NO changes once it has a VIN.

I'm glad I found this thread, as I'd been wondering how long it was taking from the submission of an order to Ford until the MME was scheduled for build, shipped and arrived at the dealer. I entered my information into the spreadsheet and look forward to updates from others.

I ordered a MME Premium, RWD in Infinite Blue. I live in Coastal Orange County, CA and don't really need AWD given our climate. That said, I fully understand why anyone living in the snow belt would want it.

I currently have a 2013 Ford Focus Electric that has been an excellent vehicle: the only major issue I've had with it is the Microsoft-based infotainment system. It has ~ 28,500 miles on it and has experienced minimal battery degradation. It's kept inside my garage and hasn't been exposed to any extreme temperature variations, although on the few days when the temperature is in the low 40s early in the morning, there is a noticeable drop in range (which recovers by 11AM when temps are back in the 60s F). About half of my driving is stop-go, which typically adds ~ 25% to the overall range I get due to regeneration. I hope the MME has similar results.

The thought process behind getting the standard range battery is that Ford has been conservative with its estimate of the MME's range (68 of ~ 75 kw useable) and is expected to push OTA updates that will improve it. Tesla has done the same thing for the 3 and Y that have added ~ 10% to its useable range since they were released, net of any changes in battery-pack size.

This group is extremely valuable to all owners and those interested in buying an MME. I wish it well.
