The car is already supposed to be managing 12V SOC transparently in the background. But, yea there are ways people are using the car that causes 12V to get lower than it should. Not sure tying an explicit target on 12V SOC would solve that though.Does this seem like a reasonable software update from Ford: When an owner sets the targeted SOC for the HVB at 90%, the charging process also makes sure the SOC for the 12V is at 90%.
No, lead acid should always stay fully charged, not like lithium batteries.Does this seem like a reasonable software update from Ford: When an owner sets the targeted SOC for the HVB at 90%, the charging process also makes sure the SOC for the 12V is at 90%.
They did: https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...tion-battery-remote-start-enhancements.34535/My thought is if a redesign of the 12V system from Ford means I have to wait for a 2026 model, I’d like them to do something now to help current owners.
