@Ford Motor Company looking for some help. Was driving yesterday and received a Stop Vehicle Safely message along with a Service Vehicle Soon message. Loss of acceleration power followed. I suspect it is an HVBJB issue. Called two dealers local to me. Neither can see the car until January 2024. I need a loaner/rental. Ford customer service not very helpful. Ford recovery was awesome.
I need a loaner or rental car authorized and paid for by Ford ASAP. Car towed to dealer last night. Please contact me ASAP to discuss and rectify. I was told by customer service that IF the dealership has an account with Enterprise, Ford can cover the rental. If not I would need to pay out of pocket but Ford will only pay $40/day. That’s not acceptable. You cannot get much for $40/day. I should have no financial responsibility for a replacement vehicle due to your vehicle breaking down. This includes the finance payment. Please contact me.

Seeing that you are new to the forum, I will direct you to the following thread HERE. You will also want to search the forum for threads on the HVBJB where you will learn more than you ever thought possible on the problem and many different possible outcomes.

The short version on the rental is unfortunately you will most likely need to be the one who reaches out to Ford. They will probably not authorize anything for a rental until after the car is diagnosed, and if approved, they will insist that the rental vehicle is a Ford product. If it is approved, it will most likely be a reimbursement to you in the form of a pre-paid Visa card after you have paid for the rental and submitted the bill you paid.

You did not say what year you have, but if it is one that has the HVBJB recall you may run into a dealer confused as to how to handle the situation if it turns out to be the HVBJB. Parts are not available for the recall right now, but if a vehicle has a failure the dealer is supposed to fix the car now even with a recall open that says the parts for the recall are not available.

I am sorry to hear the saga you are going through. It truly does suck. If it were me, I would not be going off on the dealer or Ford at the beginning. I would be asking the dealer if there is any possible way to at least diagnose the problem to see if it really is the HVBJB, or maybe something a lot more simple.
