My Ford- Ionity membership (£149p pa) finsihed last month and I am now paying the monthly Ionity Passport Power membership and getting 43p/kWh. In Ford Pass I disabled Plug & charge and starting using the Ionity App to start the charge to ensure I was billed through Ionity as opposed to Ford. I have a job1 2021 ER RWD. Has anyone successfully switched P&C from Ford to Ionity? P&C is so convenient I would prefer to use it if possible? What rate are people now paying outside of any subscription when charging on Ionity via Ford? Thanks

Unless things are different in the UK, P&C will always be charged at retail rates. P&C cannot currently be tied into any discounted membership plans.

I have only used Tesla Superchargers as they are far cheaper than any other COP (providing you do not charge in peak period).

If your ford Ionity free 12 month subscription has expired you can see what you will now pay as a Ford Blue Oval customer (without the Ionity sub) via the Ford Pass app for charging at Ionity chargers, Ionity at Peterborough services is 69p kWh saving 5p against Ionitys normal rates. FWIW as an Octopus customer via the Electroverse app the same chargers are 63p kWh. Prices can vary depending on location and even times so you would need to look at specific chargers although Ionity seem to have a flat rate price from my experience.

P&C is dependent on the vehicle manufacturer and charge point provider so if you can’t enable in the Ionity app it isn’t available as yet.

Thanks wenklaw, In the UK, I have charged numerous times and get 43p/kWh directly with Ionity. Its the P&C question I am particularly interested in - having used it frequently with Ford previously. Ionity do say it is available but it is not clear how you enable it when used previously by another provider.

My understanding of P&C in particular ionity is that it’s only implemented via the cars manufacturers charging service/third party apps like octopus (not enabled for P&C with Fords currently) or Ford Blue Oval. It isn’t available direct from Ionity. Strange I agree but it is what it is
