Sometimes when I enter the car (in the Garage), my wife’s phone connects if she is home (though fairly far away). The car is correctly recognizing my profile, but it doesn’t seem to care and connects my wife’s phone instead of mine. Hers is set as a “priority” phone as it is worse if the opposite is true. Is this the correct behavior? It seems like if my phone is associated with my profile, that it should automatically know to connect that.

So a point of clarification here. Phone as a key is entirely separate from Bluetooth for calls/music/Android Auto/carplay.

With that clarification in mind, profiles are linked to keys, but unfortunately as far as media goes, no phone is linked. The "priority" list is used instead, regardless of the key used to start the car.

Unfortunately this means that even if your phone is used to start the car (and it correctly identifies your profile) the entertainment part is still just going off of general priority

Thanks! Glad to hear it isn’t a bug, but hope they fix this in a future release.

I guess mpshizzle’s comment probably explains what is happening to my phone but I don’t know how to solve the problem I’m having with my iPhone and our car. Basically, I have to pair my phone every time I get in the car, even though my PaaK is working (Bluetooth is connected) and my profile is showing.

My phone’s Bluetooth is connected but the phone always has to be paired. A couple of months ago the car’s apim had to be replaced and after that I had to go through a lengthy process with the help of a Ford tech to finally get the Ford app to connect to the car via Bluetooth. Even though everything with PaaK now functions, having to always pair the phone for calls is frustrating. Any help will be appreciated. As you can tell I am not the most technically adept MME owner but have learned a lot and we really like our car.

Hi there! Can you send us a PM with your VIN and Ford dealership information? I’d be happy to look into this on my end.

There is no fix, because it is performing exactly as Sync does in all Ford's. The priority phone gets paired if it is in range, regardless of who is driving. Therefore, the primary driver's phone should be set as primary. If you aren't primary, switch to your phone after you get put of range.

Resurrecting an old thread.

How does one set priority order?

My Mach E often connects to my wife’s phone even if it’s inside the house far away from the car.

I’d like for it to search for my phone first, if it doesn’t see my phone, then connect to her phone.

For the record, this _used_ to work, as you used to be able to have a different primary phone linked to each profile. Unfortunately, a few updates ago this functionality was removed (it was the update that added the abilitity for multiple phones to be connected to bluetooth simultaneously).

It's been driving us crazy that what used to be seamless (whoever was driving would have their phone connect automatically) is no longer, and I hope this functionally is re-added at some point.
