I got a call from my salesman late last week stating my early October delivery now looks to fall sooner, sometime in September.

I used the https://shop.ford.com/vehicleordertracking#/ link to track the vehicle and got the following, which seems to coincide with his call.

Ford Mustang Mach-E Taking delivery soon, have some questions 1661723091617

So this will be the first car that I've ever bought brand new, and first car I've ever "ordered" (really someone else ordered this one and walked away and I took over, but you get my point). So I have a bunch of questions I was hoping people could help me with as I prepare to go into the delaership and take delivery.

1) When you get to this stage, how long are we talking here? A week? Two? Three?
2) I've read that the MME only comes with one physical key fob. But saw other threads stating they now give you two. So which is it? Is it something I can request? Is there an additional fee for the second fob?
2a) With PAAK, profiles in the car etc. does the key fob actually do anything pertaining to the profile like older vehicles where Fob 1 would adjust seat/settings to my liking and fob 2 my wives or are they generic now and you adjust those things by either changing profiles once in the car or by using PAAK?
3) I will be putting $10k down on this vehicle. Never done that before on previous purchases, how does that typically work? Do I bring in a cashiers check? Is it done via bank transfer? etc.
4) I have a signed agreement for final sales price, then there will be tax, title, license getting added on of course. I know when we purchased our last vehicle (used) we had our son with us who was a baby and melting down at the time, so during paper signing it was "sign her, sign here, sign here....etc" and later I found we paid an extra $600 for a window etching security something or other that was already on the car but we paid for anyways. I'd definitely like to avoid that kind of thing happening and will be going to take delivery solo this time, but anything I should look out for specifically?
5) With the HVBJB failures seen in the earlier models, my reading suggests first there was a software "fix" to limit ideally warn drivers before the failure occurs vs leaving them stranded, and then later there was a redesigned part (TBD on its overall effectiveness) do we have any idea when those redesigned parts were put into production? ie with mine being an Aug 22 build date, is it likely it has the newer part?
6) I plan to get pre-approved for a loan via my credit union in advance of showing up at the dealer. However, I also plan to let them offer me financing to see where their rates fall. But I have also heard Ford Credit (via ford.com) is an option. Should I get on there now and apply or wait for like the day before I go in and get the ball rolling on that approach too?

I'm sure there is more, but want to stop there. Apologies if this is annoying, just excited and trying to get everything squared away ahead of time. Thanks in advance for any responses!!

I would highly recommend going with Ford credit considering you ordered in October and you can get incentives and interests rates from the time your ordered (my order was confirmed 2 days before yours, and I just got this). My credit union was only .5% higher, but I went with the 48 month Ford Options loan to get the $1,000 discount on my Premium, and got 2.7% interest. If you ordered a GT I think the discount was $2,500 and the interest was 1.4% but I could be wrong. The sales manager can pull up all the different finance options from the time of order in Smart Vincent by selecting the ā€œProtection Dateā€ option.

Your dealer may have never heard of Options, which is a balloon finance loan so you can get the federal tax credit. You may want to talk to them about this in advance as it may take them a bit to set it up. If you go this route make sure it’s a loan and not a lease as you don’t get the credit on a lease.

You’ll also be entitled to price protection, which can either be taken off the MSRP by the dealer and they’ll get refunded by Ford or they’ll cut you a check 45-90 days after they get it from Ford. It’s better for you to get the protection up front, but the dealer isn’t required to do it that way unfortunately. May want to talk to them about how they implement it as well so you know what to look for. And don’t forget to have your deposit amount applied, if you had to make a deposit.

Specifically tell them you do not want any etching, paint sealant, LoJack, or aftermarket add on put on the vehicle (unless you want them to do something like tint the front windows). And if your’e like me and don’t like dealer decals tell them not to put that on too. And be sure to inspect the exterior closely to make sure there’s no damage. Mine needs a new trim piece around the wheel and I had it written into the contract that they’d replace it at no cost to me.

I’m sure there’s more that others can chime in on but hopefully that’ll get you started.

1. It is still variable. Train transport to KC staging area is roughly 10-12 days, then transfer to another train or truck. Mine sat for about two weeks before that step which fortunately was only three hours to my dealer. Your dealer or Ford chat can give you current eta. Three-5 weeks is a good estimate.
2. The MME now comes with two key fobs. You can connect each one to a memory setting. Not sure about the PAAK.
3. Ask your dealer if they require a cashiers or personal check. I’ve run into each.
4. Best to talk to them beforehand to not add any extras. Then read everything.
5. Your car will have the new HVBJB.
6. Have them find out your Ford Options offerings. They will vary from region to region but give you options of financing offered when you ordered. Can save you lots of money.

1. We received the call from dealership that our car arrived for two weeks early then the original delivery date.
2. My job 2 2021 premium and 2022 GT both had 2 key fobs I assume you will have 2 fobs as well.
2a. For seats adjustment, profile selection and etc you should link the fob to selected profile.
3. I always brings check with me.
4. I don’t know how in other states but here in CA they try to sell a bunch of junk stuff for thousand of dollars. I always ā€œfightā€ with salesman to remove this from final agreement and even after that pay attention for final numbers. When I bought my MME premium they agreed to remove all extra charges but when I checked paperwork all was there. And it was nearly 6k for nothing.
5. I think your car will have new part.
6. Have pre approve with you and see what they can propose. In my case pre approved rate from KeyPoint was better then they was able to propose.

Don’t be afraid to have the dealer change something you don’t like even at the dealership. It’s so easy to just want to get in your new car and drive but this is really your best chance to get it right. I’ve actually left a dealership to go back home for documentation I forgot. They had it correct by the time I got back (not a Ford dealer). Even with my MME there were a couple minor hiccups (title taken in a revocable trust so additional documents needed), so try to allow plenty of time to allow for changes to be made to the paperwork.

He took over an order and was not the original orderer which does not allow him to receive price protection.

Actually I’d be very concerned about markup but since he has a final sales price agreed to he should be okay.

To reiterate about the keys, only the Job1 2021 cars got the single physical key. The CSP to correct that is screwed up since it misses the last 2-3 weeks of Job1 ā€˜21s. All Job2 2021 cars and newer come with 2 physical keys. ??
