I know that Tesla super charger can not be use and understand the destination chargers can
What adapter should I get and with what amperage? 40-50?
If I get a 40 amp Tesla tap will it cause issues knowing the MME can accept more or should I spend more and get the 50amp version
Looking at Tesla tap and Lectron any information on which one to get will help

I got an 80A adapter and it's absolutely overkill. I'd recommend nothing more than a 40-50A adapter.

It's the Coke vs. Pepsi conundrum.

I bought the 60 amp Tesla Tap mini. That way if I do encounter a higher amp Tesla Destination charger (48 amp) I can get the full power that the MME can take. I've used it a few times during hotel stays on road trips. It's very small, it easily fits in the side pocket of the trunk space. It works very well no complaints. Word of advice, be sure get the tube of silicon lube and the mini pad lock. It's a tight fit where the Tesla plug is inserted.

I also got the 60A teslatap mini. We have a tesla home charger so I needed something to do the conversion. I went with the 60A instead of the 80A because the MachE can't go any higher so why pay the extra unless you were going to future proof and who knows what I might need next time around. (if there even is a next time around)

And a tube of dieletric grease. It's a very snug fit.

Yes, that's why I got the 60 so I'm covered. If you get the 50 amp version then you should limit charging to 40 amps continuous. Get the 60 amp and you don't have to worry about it because the MME can't take more than 48 amps.

I wouldn't spray any liquid in there. You want something non-conductive.

Get a few of these, they are $0.99 each or use something similar (sure sure it's rated for electrical use).

I do not recommend going 40A, many Destination chargers are 80A shared, so the MME will pull 48A if you are the only one using it. I see 45-46A at the charger output until the other coupler is in use, it drops to 40A then.
