speaking of 'stolen', is there any chance that the adapters will be 'smart enough' so that a stolen one could be bricked?
No.

Nope - easy to steal, just stop charge, unplug.

Unattended theft may happen so I ordered a 3rd party adapter for backup.

I realize the one we are getting from Ford won’t work as an adapter for L2 charging with a Tesla charger but is that true of all adapters for the SC network? Are they all only for DC, including this Lectron one?
Ford, Lectron and A2Z are for the L3 (DC) Tesla Superchargers.

If you run across a Tesla Destination L2 (AC) charger at hotels, shopping malls, etc you will need a different adapter - J1772 to Tesla adapter.

Yes, I have a TeslaTap. I was just trying to understand the technology a bit more.

I take my TM3 to supercharge and is .30 during off peak times 11pm+ so this would be great to use it on my MME. (Still in the shop for door latch fault), my res says shipping Nov so I'm still waiting.
At .30 that's cheaper than home charging, My normal PGE rate is .43/kwh.(if I pay 12.99/mo for membership).
Cheaper than EVGO super off peak(12am-4am WTH) of .56 + session fee or .37 (if I pay 12.99/mo for membership).

For me it's less about price and more about availability, especially when out on a trip. I remember last year being at santa cruz EA and only 1/8 chargers were operational and waiting in the cold in line at 2am while my fam is asleep in the hotel...
