I tried to charge a Tesla SC station this weekend without any luck. Do I need to have the Tesla app if so which one to select the station I was plugged into to initiate the charge? I was using the A2Z adapter and it was in the lock position.

If you use the Tesla app no vehicle update is needed to charge. If you have Priority Update 24-PU0119-DC-CHG4 and the Tesla certificate enabled then you can use Plug & Charge.

Not sure where you attempted to charge, but from what I can see there aren't many compatible Tesla Superchargers in Oklahoma -- one site in Oklahoma City and one site in Tusla.

You can use this link, or the Tesla app, to find compatible Superchargers: https://www.tesla.com/findus?v=2&bounds=35.382028667900165,-80.88826121875,33.10273422092158,-86.02986278125&zoom=9&filters=nacs

Patrick over at @Mach-E VLOG has a great video on this topic:

As @Jeff-NoVA said above, there are many other blogs on this topic in the forum.

Good luck!

What was the precise location of the Tesla SC Station?

Were you getting charging station error/red ring on charge port light? The adapter can be tricky - even if it seems "locked" it may not be fully on the Tesla plug. Did you give it a good bit of pressure before engaging the lock?

I'll give that a try see if it works better the next time.

We just had a weekend trip to La Quinta in Palm Springs. They had 12 Tesla chargers with adapters for other EVs, including the MachE. We got all the way through the process until a popup said "Try back later. System not working", or something to that effect. We did try back later...and later...and never worked. Then, a young man from the bell staff came down to the garage, took my phone, and after poking buttons for a few minutes, got it to work. When I aksed him what he did, he said it was really complicated and he virtually had to do it for every guest that tried to charge with a non-Tesla. Just sayin'--sounds like Tesla wants to say they offer charging and then make the "Mother, may I?" extremely difficult.
