My feeling is that it should have been called The mach e and leave the Mustang thing out of it........but I'm not a marketing guru.
Mustang is Ford's most recognizable brand, makes sense they used it to lead their EV efforts

Ive owned an 85 and an 87. I had an 89 GT and a 95 . The 95 looked nothing like the 80s versions but it was still a Mustang .The mid to late 2000 versions looked different from 80s and 90s versions.
IMHO Ford should've made the Bronco their first EV at relaunch.
MAYBE the marketing guys were the smartest guys in the room because the NAME has people talking about the CAR and pulling up pictures of it if they haven't encountered one yet .
"there's no such thing as bad publicity as long as they spell your name right "

Lol same shit happened to me! idk what triggered the guy but when I filled up my tires at a local SHEEETZ some dude in a Pickup yelled 'get that fake battery Mustang outta here' ? I just gave him a thumbs up and ignored him.

He probs was pissed that a non gasoline car was at a 'gas' station taking advantage of free air

I was at Lowes a few days ago and in the parking lot I saw a Grabber Blue Mach E with some customized components (which were hideous BTW). I was looking at it to see the mods. A guy walks by and said "It's not what you think....". I then said I know what it is because my wife has one. He then said "Well they aren't going to make them anymore anyway....switching them all back to gas...." he was very serious....

Yeah / OK.....

My mom had a Fox body 5.0 convertible. She was super-jazzed that I reserved an MME. Definitely was not part of the #NoTaMuStAnG crowd. I am, however, in the #NoTaBlAzEr crowd. If the roof don’t come off and it isn’t a full-size, it isn’t a Blazer. ??

This is the first car that Ive owned where I throw the keys at people and ask them if they wanna drive it . There's so much disinformation about these cars that I want to counter it as much as possible . I will stand and talk EVs with people and answer all their questions while at the same time giving them my experience with it .
EVERY person that's driven my Mach ends our conversation with something in the lines of " I gotta get one of these "

Agreed, I have never offered to give people a test drive in any other vehicle as I have with the MME

I would argue anything after 1973 isn't a true "Mustang" so the only people that can say this are the OG purists. And from them I would accept the comment. All others can look at themselves in the mirror. And the 64.5 was just a sporty version of the Falcon. So a sporty family car. BTW our other car is a 67 mustang and this feels as "mustangy" as that car. I actually think calling it a "Mach anything" is more the issue.... Mach has always been reserved for a sporty enhanced trim level. All this said, We love the car. Perfect for us at this point in our lives and more power and range than needed.
Agreed. I did not like them calling a four door car a mustang. Calling it a mach is adding insult to injury to those who owned a mach 1.
Former owner, 1972 Mustang Mach 1.
Ps. Can we put pictures on this forum ?

Love or hate the Mustang label, it certainly got people talking about it. I think my car is as much a Mustang as the energy crisis Mustangs. She just has a little bit more meat on her bones. ?

My response is that it is an "adult Mustang". Adults can sit in the back seat in comfort. (I am 6' 3".)
Adult mustang. LOL. I like that. True I did not buy that mach 1 to haul adults around in the back seat. But thanks for the memory. Going to the swimming hole I had three girls with me. None of them wanted to sit in the back seat. They argued, so all three sat in the passenger bucket at the same time. Made for a very fun drive. The back seat memories are not for a public forum. But what the heck, I was a nineteen year old Marine at the time.
BTW one of those babes I have been married to over forty years.
