A bunch of us with 2021 models from the 12/6 build week got bumped out to April /May date. Seeing the same on the 1/3 2022 build thread. If Ford is still working this out it make better sense to put on a bunch of tbd's instead of creating a thread like this. Of course they took the tracker down.

Just to add a tiny bit of perspective here, those of us who placed reservations in the beginning didn't actually get our cars for many months, (some more than a year after reserving), and didn't have dates, or saw dates change many times. Might want to double check the dates a couple of times before using such emotionally charged language.

Let's apply logic. Would Ford continue to run the plant at full speed, without chips, stacking up each week's production for 3 or so months, given the past headaches in doing so? No, they'd likely slow production / cut shifts / close for a period. These same chips are used in many vehicles, so they'd be doing this at many plants and recreating the 2021 nightmares. My belief - it's a few weeks to a month of a hold at most, and some of us are already a few weeks into that.
Well when you put it that way, that might be exactly what they are doing, it’s possible they feel that if they slow down production so much, they will not have enough time left to catch up on their production goals once the chips come in, so they might feel they have no choice but to keep production up even though they don’t have the chips they need.

But on balance I think your initial thought is right, probably just the system acting up, and it will revert back in a few days. This happened with the initial roll out too, before the chip shortage was a thing, delivery dates would bounce around a lot.

From talking to others the speculation is that Ford got surprised with a shortage when some component manufacturers in Asia went into COVID lockdown/reduced throughput. It sounds like it's hitting more product lines than just Mach E.

I will be patient. Driving will be more fun in the spring anyway!

This is the first time so many orders slipped by such a large extent. Unprecedented. Not at all like the order status system going down for portions of most weekends.

By now many of you have woken up to seeing your estimated delivery dates jump three months (in the wrong direction). Such a large estimating mistake, or logistics mistake, far exceeds last year's "chip hold" delay which prompted the extra free 250kw from Ford.

To help draw attention to this disaster, I propose referencing it in this and other forums as the Friday Night Massacre ("FNM"). This will facilitate cover in the trade publications, as in "... described in social media as the Friday Night Massacre, the massive disruption of ..."
Where are you seeing this? In an email? The Ford website? I've checked Ford's site a few times this morning to see this and I've found nothing changed on delivery estimates. Trying to start a trend of "Friday Night Massacre" is a bit extreme IMO. I saw you post this to the MME thread on Reddit too. I'm not attacking you but I think a lot of people over react on this forum to such a small glitch or new article. This is probably nothing and there's no need to make it into some historical moment in the history of the MME.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to laugh but you guys put so much drama into the ordering and building of your vehicle. I mean seriously, "Massacre", you guys definitely crack me up on this cold snowy morning as I drink my coffee! ?
I've been browsing this forum for a month now and recently placed an order for a '22. But this statement sums up a lot of what I read here. I try to tell myself that you're more likely to hear about bad experiences than good on this forum because people need to vent and look for answers. It's a new car that's been produced for 1 year. I'm sure Ford is working out kinks in the process daily. Have faith and relax...we'll all get our cars eventually.

I woke up this morning and my Ford account didn’t show a delivery date at all…no build date either.

That said, I also didn’t have a build date when I went to sleep last night, and every night for the last 17 weeks since I ordered.

My car has been stalled in production since 1/15/22. I got the same 3 month delay. If true this will mean that I will have waited for my car for 50 weeks. This might be worth the extra 3 month wait if Ford is going to install improvements like a redesigned battery pack or a heat pump, otherwise it’s pretty hard to take. I’m going to wait and see what the deal is before I start looking at other options from other parts of the world.

I emailed my dealer and this is what I got:

Absolutely nothinh I csn do WAYYYYYYY beyond my control, I tried to mitigate the uiissue by moving you to another vehicle further along in the prcess. your name is on both units.

You are certainly welcome to chase the situation "upline" no one on the dealership level has the ability to do anything about it.
