i got the same three month extension. I checked with my dealer and he says that my car is on chip hold. If shows as in production right now.By now many of you have woken up to seeing your estimated delivery dates jump three months (in the wrong direction). Such a large estimating mistake, or logistics mistake, far exceeds last year's "chip hold" delay which prompted the extra free 250kw from Ford.
To help draw attention to this disaster, I propose referencing it in this and other forums as the Friday Night Massacre ("FNM"). This will facilitate cover in the trade publications, as in "... described in social media as the Friday Night Massacre, the massive disruption of ..."

My experience at the major semiconductor supplier to Ford in the 80’s was also comical. They mixed up the order for their best selling Ford with a Lincoln Continental and had 500 ordered of the one they wanted 500,000 of. We convinced them to switch to programmable non-volatile memories. Less than a year later they forgot to order anything. They had to foot the bill to bring everyone back between christmas and new year’s including paying for everyone’s vacation.By far not the first time and won't be the last, as others are saying, just wait you will see.
I think that they have assembled all of the 2022's that were scheduled to be built in January...except missing chips/components. I would not get your hopes up with getting any changes at this point. My car has been stalled in production since 1/15/22. I got the same 3 month delay. If true this will mean that I will have waited for my car for 50 weeks. This might be worth the extra 3 month wait if Ford is going to install improvements like a redesigned battery pack or a heat pump, otherwise it’s pretty hard to take. I’m going to wait and see what the deal is before I start looking at other options from other parts of the world.
Look at the big brain on Brad.I am really puzzled by how the supply chain management works in Ford. Didn't they know that there is no chip to put on all these cars before yesterday? So they go and build stuff then suddenly at a Friday night they're like "ugh looks like we're out of chips, let's order some."
The reality is that parts ordered months in advance that suddenly have delivery dates pushed out create production delays that cannot be avoided. This is the first time so many orders slipped by such a large extent. Unprecedented. Not at all like the order status system going down for portions of most weekends.
That is an interesting shade of Black Onyx...
Well, I've gotta ask.'Never in the field of automotive sales was so much delayed by so long to so many.'
