I have a friend that has a 2020 EchoBoost Mustang, with a 4 cylinder engine, 330 HP, and 0-60 in 5.5 seconds, and he says "That's no Mustang!" I asked "Why not? It's made by Ford, it has a pony on it, THEY say it's a Mustang" he replies "It's electric, Mustang shouldn't be electric!" I say "Mustang shouldn't be 4 cylinder either. I have 480 HP and 0-60 in 3.8 seconds, yours isn't a Mustang by your definition either." Then I made him drive it, and he loved it. His final conclusion was "OK I guess it doesn't matter what it is, it's f-ing awesome!" and now he wants one ?
HAHA! Love it when EcoBoost owners try to say it’s not a “real Mustang”. They wouldn’t ever know until they drive one. Had a cousin say it wasn’t a Mustang then I took him for a drive in it and his opinion on it changed? All you gotta do is show them the speed.

Lady at the dog park was trying to give me a hard time about the MME the other day.
"You know, when you left the other day I didn't hear you pull away. You might want to have that Mustang looked at"
(She actually loves the car)
So I've got to figure out how to save this audio clip and pull up with the windows down.

Lady at the dog park ...
You know it's a gonna be a good story when it starts "Lady at the dog park..."

I actually got a funny dog park story. Our dog park is just a few blocks from our house. No fence, leashes required, but now and then, somebody's dog gets loose. Had a pit bull wonder into our yard. I know better than to tangle with a Pit, but this one was very friendly, so I made exception and attached a leash, figured the owner would show up shortly. (I keep a leash at the mailbox, this is not the first dog to wonder by!!) I'm trimming grass in the yard, 70 year old blue-hair pulls up in a hybrid Toyota (you know which one). He was friendly, and grateful, but proceeded to educate me about my weed eater contributing to air pollution. Told me he still pulls weeds by hand. I sympathize with old folks (I'm not far behind), so I just take it. Standing a few feet from the Mach-e. I asked him where the charging port was on his car. He just looked confused, loaded the pup, drove off.

You probably think this story is about the hybrid vs the Mach. It sorta is. But the craziest thing is my weed eater is battery powered. He never picked up on that.

I see a lot of fun and some very funny stuff in this forum. I've only owned the GT for a couple months, and we already have several entertaining experiences. Like my wife using FordPass to crash my lunch, or when she switched to one-pedal drive while I'm driving in tight traffic and nearly got rear-ended when I naively took my foot completely off the accelerator. (We've quit experimenting with setting when we're moving!!)

You don't need a Mach-e to have fun, but in my estimation, the GOOD_TIMES_PER_YEAR factor is already besting other vehicles I've owned.

One of the funniest was when I told my gal about the hands-free trunk then demonstrated it for her. I should have recorded her attempts to get it to work. (We have a 2022, there is no hands-free, but a guy can demo with his hands in his pockets, if there is also a FOB in his pocket!) She was amazed when the kick under the tailgate did not work for her, but the patented karate-chop manuever DID work for her. She finally caught on when I showed her my favorite, the "pull my finger" trunk release.

I hope you are having as much fun as we do.
The hands-free boot’s my favourite! One of my Cub Scouts saw me put my index finger in my mouth and make as if I was blowing into my finger as I was loading stuff into the boot(trunk for US audience) and when the tailgate opened it amazed him, he thought I was some kind of an IT god or something??

Occasionally when somebody sees the key pad light up on the driver’s door and ask what all that’s about I tell ‘em as straight-faced and believable as possible, as if it’s obvious “oh that? It’s the ATM function so I can make a cash withdrawal”.
