What would been great was an option to chose whether it worked for both corners and signs, as well as tolerance values. As you mentioned, my car tried to enter a roundabout at 60 miles per hour while at the highway it slowed down by 20 miles per hour for a very wide corner that needed no brakes - not to mention the constant yoyo in the hills…
Hopefully it gets improved with future updates, but for now, it's a no-go for me. Many people on the F150/Lightning forums feel the same way and have also disabled it.

It is a 2021, but I have an F150. I don't have one of these in my household (yet). On my truck, I have newer IPMA software than what is available for you guys, and it still behaves too aggressively for my taste. Very easy 2-minute fix though:

IPMA (as built)

706-02-02

xxxx xxxx x0--

Just change that a zero, write the change and reboot the IPMA.
I know I'm crazy, but I can't seem to get the predictive assist to turn on on my '21 self-flashed IPMA. What should the default value be? I see the entries in the master spreadsheet:
Ford Mustang Mach-E The new predictive speed assist feature 1743617556238-8r

But I'm not sure what the difference is between Low, Mid, and High FCBADM.

A 2 there is what it should be so it defaults to low sensitivity when enabled. What IPMA software are you on? Did you flash it yourself with FORScan or FDRS?

I don't recall the exact IPMA version, but it's what was eventually rolled out with BC 1.3, IIRC. I flashed it with FDRS. (Everything else with BC 1.3 works perfectly - lane change assist, in-lane repositioning, etc.)

Hmmm. Interesting. Blessing in disguise IMO, but it should work either way. Is the car reporting any codes relevant to any of the ADAS modules?

Nope, everything seems fine with no codes thrown/stored.

That's very weird. Do you have the toggle switch in your driver assist/cruise control settings for predictive speed and if so, can you turn it on, or is it grayed out or turn off within seconds of your turning it on?

Message me the VIN and I'll poke around to see if I see anything, but if you have a 2 in that location, it should work.

I do have the toggle, and it stays on. The speed sign recognition works - with its associated flaws - but I have entered pretty steep turns at 80mph, with no sign of slowing down. I just checked, and I do have a zero in that field; just switched it to 2, but haven't had the chance to try it.

If you had a 0 there, then for sure that was the issue.

Speed sign recognition is not flawless.
I disagree. For me it’s always been exceptional, I don’t think it’s ever gotten one wrong. No matter what the sign says, my car picks it up.

And that’s the problem. It can pick up speed signs on roads that parallel a highway, providing a fun surprise for everyone. Which is why I am seemingly everyone else keep the auto speed adjust off.

I would like the new feature where it slows you down around tight corners on highways. I don’t know why they thought that needed to be linked to the speed sign recognition junk.

It's been downloaded to me this morning. So much to look forward to...

We will be taking our kitty to the vet this morning for check ups etc. He hates being transported in the car at the best of times and cries all through the journey. :( I try to drive as though there is an egg on the bonnet and the idea is for it not to fall off. This "improvement" won't help that.
Some good news. I've turned the option off and our kitty didn't make a sound and was quite calm on the journey. His weapon at the vets is to look as cute as possible (which is not difficult) :) You know what they say about cats, 99 times out of a 100 they do a certain thing and when you want a witness they don't do it. ?

So, it is exceptional and doesn't get any speed signs wrong but...it recognizes signs on roads that you aren't driving? I have to conclude that is getting speed signs wrong. Evidently, our experiences are not consistent.

I also very much dislike the predictive speed control for curves.

It acts like some programmer took a wikipedia article on how to drive through a curve in a race and applied it without considering any external factors. I'm not racing. I'm not clipping the apex of the turn.

I'm driving with a bunch of other people around me and don't need to brake hard before the curve and then accelerate out of it like a Formula 1 driver. I need to drive predictably and smoothly.

Thanks, @rugedraw for the instructions for turning this off.

Haha this is spot on! It has adopted slow in - fast out principle. Too bad it does it in turns that does not need braking, while it believes roundabouts and hairpin turns should be driven full - throttle. Also - why the F does it brake hard when going from one speed limit to other? At my end the new sign will show in display for a second or two without anything happening, then BAM car slams brakes so hard that it enters the new speed limit zone below the speed limit… it is so god damn stupid haha.

My pleasure, but I dislike it for very different reasons. In my case, it slows down for curves that it does not need to slow down for. Mind you: I am driving a lifted 6000 lb tank with off-road tires that don't grip the road well and I still think it is too aggressive in the way it slows down for curves. if I were driving one of these smaller, nimble sporty cars and it slowed me down 20 mph for a curve, I would lose my mind.

Sometimes, less is more. The lane change assist and in-lane repo are great additions to the BC experience, but the predictive speed assist needs a lot of work, imo.
