My pleasure, but I dislike it for very different reasons. In my case, it slows down for curves that it does not need to slow down for. Mind you: I am driving a lifted 6000 lb tank with off-road tires that don't grip the road well and I still think it is too aggressive in the way it slows down for curves. if I were driving one of these smaller, nimble sporty cars and it slowed me down 20 mph for a curve, I would lose my mind.
We have both a Mustang and a Lightning. The hard braking for curves it doesn't need to slow down for (and the not-braking for some curves I think it does need to slow down for) is unacceptably poor, unpredictable behavior. The hard acceleration to regain speed is also nonsense. Most of the curves it's misbehaved on could have been driven at a constant speed through the curve. I've turned BC off entirely while on road trips because of its behavior.

Sometimes, less is more. The lane change assist and in-lane repo are great additions to the BC experience, but the predictive speed assist needs a lot of work, imo.
I don't mind the lane change assist but I don't really use it. And I think the way it cancels BC when you do the change yourself is nonsense, even if it does bring it back relatively quickly.

So, it is exceptional and doesn't get any speed signs wrong but...it recognizes signs on roads that you aren't driving? I have to conclude that is getting speed signs wrong. Evidently, our experiences are not consistent.
What I meant is it never seems to misread the signs. The numbers are always what actually on the sign.

The problem is not the recognition but the logic. If I’m doing 70 and it sees a 25 sign maybe ignore it or ask the driver or something? You have internal maps, does the sign match the road the car is actually on?

70->65 sure.

It’s missing sanity checks for reasonableness. I suspect that would solve 98% of issues.

I am baffled by how far behind Ford (&Chevy, S.Korea, ect.....) are in the Western Market with the ADS's. Tesla (Love em' or hate em') are Light Years ahead (FSD) and don't get me started on the Chinese (who are Galaxies ahead of the West). As global of a world that we live in, I'm surprised either the Western automakers have not been able to hire the right people to create a better system. And don't get me started on Silicone Valley, talk about "Asleep at the Wheel"; where are they?

While those of us with some tread on our tires recall Chinese Products were always "Junk"! During the 80's & 90's just about anything that came out of there was cheap and failed.......Now fast forward a few decades and watch-out!!! They are kicking our tails!! I guess we should not have outsourced all of our manufacturing over the last 50 years!!! If you have never seen a video of the xiaomi 007 in action, it's worth a watch. I hope we catch up soon, as it would be fun to use some of the ADS systems here!

I can kind of see why predictive speed needs to be linked to speed sign recognition (and I'll bet lawyers had something to do with it ?).

It is essentially useless to me though as cars and trucks have different speed limits here and it cannot distinguish between the signs used for each.

My only disagreement is the 'our' reference. Companies, especially multi-national, are their own entities. They may have incorporated in the U.S. but they are not 'our'. They operate as they want, where in the world they want.
All the best.

Oh my. Well, as a eurotard I got this update yesterday (21’ job 2 in whisper L mode). Firstly; regardless if “intelligent” assist is on, predictive assist is on - in direct opposition of what the update notes claim.

Secondly, and holy sh*t! What did they do to cruise control in general? Regardless of tolerance settings, the car will hard brake in speed reduction zones, accelerate hard regardless of drive mode and if it’s a hilltop followed by downhill the car will go from acceleration to braking hard several times the same downhill. Before it seemed that +- 3 kmh was the limit before the brakes was engaged, now it’s 2 kmh which gives it too little margins and thus make the yoyo-driving worse than before.

What are you others experience about this? Anything that can be done to make CC a more pleasant experience?
Hi,
I have a 21 AWD LR and I used to love driving my car but after this "shitty" update I hate it.
1. It doesn't read the speed sign's as good as before.
2. I get a lot of alarms in the center display I never got before like, (take control of stering), even if I have both hands on the steering wheel, (Your tired), (front camera not working) even it does, and more.
3. It starts slowing down long before a roundabout, all the way down to 25 km/h and then suddenly inside the roundabout it it speed's up, dangerous.
4. Sometimes when I'm driving on the main road it suddenly deside that I want to go right at the next side road and starts slowing down from 80 km/h to 30 km/h, also dangerous.
5. But worst of all, I have also, more than once, tried the above but on the highway where it suddenly starts slowing down from 130 km/h to 50 km/h because it thinks I'm going to take the next exit, very dangerous.

Anyone else have these problems ?

I really hope Ford read this and send out a update fix.
They are also very welcome to contact me for further info as I have capture more of these incerdence on video.

Have the same experience as you. Ultimately had to disable speed sign recognition to make the CC somewhat functional.

Forgot to ask; is your profile image your car? Looks sick!

Almost same as you. Sometimes it slows down on the motorway from 130 to 90 or 60 km/h with no speed limit sign on the road but because the navigation map is set erroneously to that limit for unknown reason.
I usually drive with predictive speed assist off.
