When Fast Charging, this says limit to 80%, Are people practicing that regardless of temperature?

Only charging in per minute states does it cost more to charge >80% because of the drop off in charging speed. In the states where you are charged per kWh it does not matter.

I typically charge to 80% in per minute states because it's so much cheaper (almost half the cost of the per kWh states). I'll charge to what ever percent in per kWh states. Sometimes if we're eating it'll charge higher than 80% and that's fine occasionally. It's not like we do that every week.

The reason it says 80% is because it dramatically slows at 80% (to 44kW). This means if you're paying by the minute (about a dozen EA states), you're cost per kWh just doubled. Second, it means you're tying up the charger for others.

If you need the range, charge to the level you need to. We have 197 miles to the nearest EA charger if we go south into O_io. Obviously I leave with 100% for a trip. On the way home, in winter, I charge to 95% at that charger.
