Enter the factory-set code or your personal code, then press 7·8 on the keypad within five seconds.

Yes, the First Editions can have that feature as well. You need to have your dealer update the modules. There is even a download that supposedly places a software button on the screen for the frunk. I spoke to the tech at my local dealer (nice guy) and he said next time I'm in he would download it for me

There is no CSP to cover these updates, so you're relying on the benevolence of a dealership or paying a few hundred in labor. Hardly a guarantee, but it sounds like you found one of the good ones.

Assuming you have all of your software updates, you can turn on the functionality with FORScan. Additionally, I thought I saw that there’s a way to turn on the functionality last time I was in FDRS as well.
That said, there’s no reason a 21 Job 1 can’t have this feature.

The frunk release from the keypad will start working after the BCM and GFM updates. You don't need to do anything additional with FORScan. If you want the frunk button in Sync, there's a routine in FDRS for that or it can be added with FORScan.

The reason many 21 Job 1 cars don't have this feature is because Ford hasn't pushed the updates out OTA and hasn't agreed to pay for dealers to do them.

That's only because your BCM and GFM have been updated.

You can add the frunk button to the Sync screen with FORScan.

There is an FDRS routine to add the center screen button after the BCM and GFM have been updated using FDRS. There is currently no way to add the button to the FordPass app since that’s controlled in Ford’s back end. That functionality is supposedly “coming soon.” ?‍?
