I had mobile update about the parking brake or something similar and after that now when I touch any of the door handles spots it doesn't lock or takes a long time or I have to try multiple times. This is same whether carrying fob or phone or both. Only the lock button affected. Not the push to open which works as expected. Never happened before in years. Pushing the number code panel to lock reacts instantly.

Has anyone else ever seen this?

I’m far from an expert but here’s my experience with a 23 premium: I got an update about 8 months ago. I think it was the charging of the 12v after you turn the car off. Anyway after that the lock button went glitchy and I have to push it multiple times to get it to lock.

Before that it usually worked on the first or second tap. I guess it’s part of the charm of the Mach E….

Our cars do have some gremlins here and there šŸ˜›

Yes, I don't know when it happened, but I have to hit the lock button on the door several times before it locks. Occasionally, even the door open button does not respond first try. Yesterday, I had to hit the unlock button on the app before the door would unlock (had both PAAK and FOB with me).
Never had this issue a year ago.
I do have a notice to change my 12V, so maybe this is related. Plan to soon...

Both the little lock touch point and the 7-8/9-0 combination often do not function on my 2024. When one fails the other often does not. In most cases I use the interior lock buttons so it’s not much of an issue. The only time it is an issue is when I leave the car running so that it’s climate-controlled. At that point it’s just a dance on the touch points until the lock LED illuminates (which is often hard to see if the car is in bright sunlight). šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ©

I never have problems like this, because I do not accept updates. I have come to appreciate posts like this one because they remind me how trouble-free the car can be without software changes.

I hope you get it fixed with a battery disconnection, or with your next update!

No real issues on my 21. The 7-8/9-0 button is slow, though, where in the past it was quick, sometimes too quick, but it always locks. The lock icon has always been slowish on my car; it's extremely dependent upon where my phone is (I rarely use a fob. Back pocket? Yeah, not locking.)

Yep, my 2025 Premium as well....I'll try the negative battery terminal disconnect strategy...

I've always had issues with it since getting our 25 in September. Strangely it actually seems to be working more reliably after the latest flurry of updates...

Yes, it was the battery. When I got a new 12V, the locks work fine now.
