Touchless car wash

Any early Mach E owners that have hands free lift gate use a touch less car wash? I’m always worried about it getting a false signal to open during a wash.

Use them often. Never happened, yet.

The dryer sometimes causes the flap on the rear wiper blade to flip up. Have driven home at highway speed and flipped it down while walking into the house.

Never had a problem with it opening in a car wash. In fact, the damn thing only opens about once out of every thousand times I try to use it anyway, so out of self respect (I don't like looking like a fool repeatedly kicking at nothing under the rear of the car) I don't even bother to try it anymore.

I have NEVER, not one time EVER got mine to open. I looked like a fool in my driveway for like 20mins before I gave up. Never tried again. ?

It won't open unless you have the key fob in your pocket and you're wiping the rear bumper with a wash mit, or your standing close behind the car and happen to walk or kick past the sensor just right. I've never had it open using the spray wand from a distance, or in an automatic touchless wash.

Related to this, has anyone had issues with the charge port cover opening in a wash? I had it happen to me once, and since then I ask the car wash to tape it shut when they have tape.

Happened to me once and I worried that the door would get torn off. Since then I keep a roll of blue painters tape in the console and I put a couple of pieces over the charger door before entering the car wash.

2022s don’t have it enabled. Some (like mine) had the hardware. If yours does, you can enable it through Forscan

Mine does not open in the car wash. But I leave mine in drive while I sit there.

I enabled mine a few months ago. It works most of the time and has never open accidentally. When I hand wash, the phone/fob are out of range.

I don't remember which car wash the port opened in, but the wash chain that will tape it shut for me is brown bear car wash.
