In anticipation of rought canadian winter, I just changed my tires and wheels on my Premium MachE ER for 18 inch.
I bought 4 TMPS (BH SENS UVS3041) on amazon.com because it' s supposedly compatible with the vehicle.
The mechanic installed my set of mags + tires + tmps and he told me that he was not able to program the tmps with his machines. he said that the tmps did not respond.
When I got behind the wheel of my vehicle, I notice that I have no warning about the tpms.
There is even the tire pressure displayed on the tmps page and even in fordpass there is no no error .
Do you think that the vehicle automatically recognized the new tpms without programming?
so i don't need to buy a set of new tmps?
(my interface is in french :) )

Yeah, likely figured it out automatically.
I have swapped between summer and winter tires on a number of Ford Vehicles and never had to do anything to get the car to notice the switch. Both on the old system that didn't show the individual tire pressures and now on the new system that does in my Mustang Coupe.
It can sometimes take a day for it to figure it out, but it's never been more than that.

How do those reading compare to a mechanical air pressure gauge?

Are the old wheels/tires still close to the car and picking them up? I could see it not complaining if you had the old wheels in the car on the way home from the shop.

The old wheels was in the car... I just put them in my shed now. I am going to drive the vehicle to see if it will give me an alarm.

there is a difference ... the tires are inflated to 40 psi but the vehicle reads 38 for 3 tires and 39 for 1 tire.
I have just driven the vehicle with none of the old wheels inside and I had no alarm regarding the tpms.

If the vehicle does not detect the tpms there would be an alarm according to you?

Note the psi for each tire and then drive a bit. The pressures should increase as the tires warm up.

Sure, but what if one were to repeat the same operation on each tire? :D
If you're going to go through that process anyway, it would be easier to just do the position relearn and not have to drive around between each test.
