** New Question, change of perspective! I'm thinking about buying a used MME Premium RWD with extended battery, anyone have any major regrets or advice on this styling/package? I can give up the extended battery but I think the Premium package would suite me?? thoughts, feedback please. I live near Philadelphia so not too cold or hot seasons. 80% is city driving but I do drive to Newport RI, Maryland, and Ohio occasionally which is why I want to Extended battery.

Does it suit your needs? Is it what you want?

Only advice I can give- I’ve never regretted spending more $$ to get exactly what I want.

Many times in my life though I have regretted buying the cheaper version of something because I thought it was a slightly better “deal” at the time.

This is SO right. Back in my youth I used to 'settle' because it was all they had, or it was cheaper, or whatever, and always regretted it. Now I won't get anything unless it's fully loaded and the exact color I want, and I will gladly spend more for the package I want.

So, I'm not sure what this thread is about. I'm assuming it's asking if folks have had their cars appraised for trade-in and, if so, what was the offer. I bought a 2022 Mach E Select AWD with Technology package in September. I paid $51,289 Out the Door after TTL and all fees (X-plan pricing). I was asked at a Ski Resort "why didn't I go Tesla?" I explained that when I bought, Model Ys were going for $60K+ and not eligible for Federal Rebate so the $17,500 saved was well worth it. Fast forward and Tesla has dropped Model Y prices by $10K, are now eligible for the Federal Tax Credit, and introduced an even lower priced Standard Range AWD with an EPA range of 279 miles from an ~68 kWh battery. My SR's 70 kWh battery has an EPA range of 224 IIRC. So I thought to myself, why not try Tesla given it's cheaper now $47K and eligible for the Federal Tax Credit. Step 1 was to appraise my car. With 7,500 miles on it, Edmunds said trade-in was ~$41,800. CarMax actually offered only $39,500. I'll be posting a new thread about me going on, and off, the Tesla bandwagon with my observations comparing my MME to the Model Y Standard Range.

Thanks Mach1E and RKin WA, I'm much older and wiser now too, that's not what I was questioning. What I'm asking is if an MME Premium has any additional options which I should get or are they all pretty much the same? Anything you would suggest I assure the car comes with, like a feature you can't live without? I may go new, but I have had purchased used 1 yr old cars with low milage now for the last 15+ years. This assures it has already lost its initial value and I usually can negotiate much better on used cars than new ones.

Anyway, as I'm reading this thread, I see that they have sort of held their value which is perfect for me and that dealers don't want them and that they sit around for a while, prime for negotiating.

Thanks!

There are items such as power liftgate and self-parking that earlier models had that were removed due to the chip shortage in later ones. You'll find 'subtracts' in features are more related to model year than trim package.

I have an early Select with the Tech/Comfort package, and my only regret in not going with a Premium was that I have the smaller battery. But I love the Select seats and see no real value in a premium sound system given my hearing.

It just depends on what you like.

I have an “every option” GTPE.

And there isn’t a single of those options I would give up right now. Love the roof.
Always upgrade the stereo. 360 camera is a must. Heated seats for sure (wish we had cooled too). And the wheels and extra power were absolutely necessary for me.

I wouldn’t even consider any of the other models. But that’s me.

Hold on to your hats guys I was just offered $33,700 for my 2021 Mach E Premium with 5.1 K miles in perfect condition by an Audi dealership in Fremont for a trade-in of one of their electric vehicles. The value of these cars has gone in the toliet! GEEZ (The Sales GM was blaming Elon and Jim Farley for the price cuts!)

And a greedy dealer or one that would prefer not to take that car on trade

Dealers as a general rule are greedy thieves with no morals. I have worked for several dealerships in my life and I speak from experience. They would screw their own mother for a dime. If you find an honest one stick with them.

A bit of both I'm sure. I''ll run it over to CARMAX and see what that are offering. They wouldn't give me an online value, said that they have to little knowledge of the vehicle to quote online. Want to see it in person!

I totally agree with you on that about the mother thing LOL! The Audi dealer said they are different then other dealers they take care of their clients. Boat load of crap for sure!

CarMax ALWAYS says that. It's to get you there, so they can make the offer and try and get you to commit.
